Q. Your thoughts on the day?
JORDAN SPIETH: Yeah, starting two back and one back of Patrick, you just have to do a lot to overcome something like that with this kind of leaderboard, and I got out in front, and when Matt played tremendous golf coming in, I had a couple putts I had to make to get into that playoff, and then I don't know how the one on the first playoff hole didn't go in. I think if I hit the same putt 10 times, it goes in eight times. It should go left at the very end there on the grain. It just wasn't meant to be.
Q. Again, you played really well, brought more excitement to the TOUR. That's what we're looking for.
JORDAN SPIETH: Yeah, at this point when you're in a playoff, you plan on beating the guy by one. Yeah, I guess big picture it's great, but I wish it would have ended differently.
Q. I know this ultimately was not the result that you were looking for at the RBC Heritage but describe the day and the battle with Matt Fitzpatrick.
JORDAN SPIETH: Yeah, I didn't know it was going to be this windy, and when we got started, I thought 5-under would get it done, to be honest. It was a really good round. I got off to a dream start and then just kind of hung in there for a little while and then made a nice putt to get into the playoff, and then played the playoff really well.
I don't think I would have done anything differently. I got stuck in between clubs twice and hit a really nice one the first time on 18 and I just flew it too far the second time. Someone was going to make a birdie. It wasn't going to be a bogey to lose that playoff the way that we were both playing today. He just did what he needed to do on 15 in, when it had been kind of me and Patrick for a little while there. He just snuck in and played some tremendous golf.
Q. I know it's been a grueling stretch coming off the Masters tournament and then defending here. What is the plan moving forward, and when will we see you next?
JORDAN SPIETH: At least two weeks off. I'm up in the air on Charlotte as the next event or Dallas, but probably Charlotte.
