Q. How would you characterize the day today?
CAMERON YOUNG: I feel like I hit a bunch of mediocre shots at smart targets and just kind of -- I don't know, I putted reasonably well. But just kept it in play and didn't do much special, honestly.
Q. After a solid finish there at Augusta, actually a very good finish at Augusta last week, what did you do the last couple days to recharge a little bit?
CAMERON YOUNG: Not a ton. I came out and walked the back nine on Monday. We drove down Monday morning, walked the back nine, had a sponsor day on Tuesday. Then played the pro-am yesterday. I had yesterday afternoon a little bit off. But it's pretty much been business as usual.
That week is taxing, but I had two weeks off before it, so I was pretty ready to go for the two-week stretch.
Q. You said you hit some mediocre shots to smart targets; what else do you feel like you did really well today?
CAMERON YOUNG: Really just kept it in play. I feel like I hit a lot of fairways. The one I wish I had back was on 15. Hit it kind of up the right and it kicked off a tree and had to hit one lefty, which is a bummer because that's a pretty gettable hole.
Other than that, I feel like I picked some good tee shots and hit them all well enough to keep it in play all day.
Q. You seemed to have had a good season so far. How would you assess where you are and where you want to be with your game right now as we keep going towards bigger tournaments?
CAMERON YOUNG: Yeah, I'd have loved the game to be a little bit better. I feel like I wasn't quite on top of it last week and didn't feel like it today. I feel like mentally I've kind of turned a corner, and I think that's just allowed me to keep myself in it with some average golf.
Q. What have you done mentally to turn a corner?
CAMERON YOUNG: It's hard to say. Kind of having gone through some very different seasons and very different stretches, I think I'm just starting to kind of put it together a little bit as far as keeping myself in it in a place that allows me to keep rounds together and just play a little bit more like myself more often.
Q. Does that show last week where you said your game may not have been completely there but you finished in the top 10?
CAMERON YOUNG: Yeah, exactly. I made kind of an unfortunate and terrible double bogey on 13 last week on Sunday. It was one of those I probably formerly would have walked off pretty angry, and I was still angry, but was able to keep myself together and hit it to a tap-in on 14 and birdied 15. Instead of turning a top 10 into a 25th, I kept myself in there and finished ninth.
