Q. Other than the 10th hole, seven birdies on the day. How would you describe the round?
MACKENZIE HUGHES: Yeah, I would say it was really solid for the most part. Hiccup on 10, and then I actually followed it up with two nice saves at 11 and 12 to kind of keep the round together, then a nice finish the last six holes. Yeah, I hit a bit of a bump there in the middle, but all in all, played quite nice and was quite happy.
Q. When you come to Harbour Town, what's your biggest focus for your game when you come here?
MACKENZIE HUGHES: Well, I didn't play last week, so I was pretty fresh. Yeah, coming here obviously you know what this course demands of you, and you know what you have to do to play well, and that's first and foremost put the ball in play and put the ball in the fairway. I did a pretty good job of that today.
A lot of my work last week was, again, trying to dial in tee to green and just try to feel like if I can get myself tee to green pretty efficiently with my short game, I feel like I can play this place pretty well.
Last week just kind of preparing for what this course kind of presents challenge-wise, and so far so good.
Q. You've been working hard on your swing recently. Do you feel like you're starting to see the fruits of your labor?
MACKENZIE HUGHES: Yeah, yeah. I feel like I made some nice changes with Mark Wood in Charlotte, and he and I kind of have a good game plan. Starting to see some shots that give me a lot of validation that I'm doing the right things. Just going to continue to do more of the same and keep working at those things, and hopefully can get a bit better.
