Q. How would you characterize the round today?
XANDER SCHAUFFELE: Yeah, I hung in there. It's tough when you start your day and you see a 10 and a bunch of 7s and you snap-hook one ball OB and you feel like you're behind the world. I kind of stuck it out. My goal was to get to 4 after being 1-over. But if this is my bad round this week, I'll take it.
Q. What does that do for the way you go about playing the course when you see a 10 and a couple of 7s?
XANDER SCHAUFFELE: They were just playing really good golf. I think the wind was down this morning and they played amazing. Hopefully the wind is down tomorrow morning and we can do the same thing.
Q. Your alma mater won yesterday. Your thoughts on the Aztecs' win?
XANDER SCHAUFFELE: Yeah, I actually watched that last night, late tee-off, so it was cool to see Donovan. I saw Hastings had a nice birdie there late to kind of cushion. We were leaking a little bit of oil coming into the house. I'm sure Coach was freaking out. But Justin, I saw him at the Masters, and I'm sure he's ready to sleep in for 15 hours.
But it was cool to see the boys playing well and button up what's a really hard tournament at Pasatiempo. The redesign looked great. So go Aztecs.
