Q. After a bogey-free 61 and at least temporarily tied for the lead, do you feel like you gave that big gallery what they came to see?
CAM DAVIS: I felt like Rory was going to give them exactly what they wanted to see. I'm pretty sure most of them were out there to watch Rory and Shane, and they played amazing golf, so they absolutely brought exactly what they were expecting.
But Adam came off so hot in the first few holes there just making all the birdies while I was kind of scratching it around, and I feel like between the two of us we obviously matched the score, so we brought just as good stuff.
Q. What would you say were some of the pivotal moments in the round for you where you feel like it could have gone either way and you made a big shot to continue to climb?
CAM DAVIS: I mean, I don't know about you, but I felt like every good shot we hit it was like, all right, that's another one in the bag. I feel like there's so many birdies made in a day like this if you're both playing pretty well or at least one of you is playing really well that there's no real turning points, it's just momentum all the way through.
So I felt like we didn't really string any pars together and make a really big putt to keep things going. We had a lot of six-footers for birdie. Adam made a couple of really nice long putts that it just almost felt like momentum, just continuing the momentum.
Your putt on 15, I would say that's a pretty cool one. Every single one of them was important, so it didn't really feel like one was a turning point. Every one was just another one on top of the other.
Q. How important was it on 15 for you after that tee shot for you to get in front of the green and get up-and-down before his putt to kind of allow him to be more aggressive on that?
CAM DAVIS: Adam was rolling it so good, I just felt like I needed to make it look like I was safe for par so he could have a free run at his birdie putt. I felt like I did my best to do that through a lot of the round today, and he just -- the hole looked pretty big to him, which was pretty cool. I felt like I did my part to scratch out at least a par so he could have a free run.
Q. You said you knew everybody was going to be for Rory and Shane, but do you have to block it out even more maybe than you normally would, play your own game, when you know it's going to be like that?
CAM DAVIS: I mean, a little bit. There are situations like if they hole out first before we do, we know the gallery is just going to be moving to the next tee while we're putting. There's things like that that you just know are going to happen. But at the same time when there's that many people around, it just kind of turns into white noise. If there's no one moving and one person moves, that's one thing; it looks like a bomb going off. But if you've got 100 people all moving at the same time in your field of vision, it just kind of all blends together.
Honestly, it's the environment we want to play in. It's a sign that you're either playing with someone who's pretty special or you're playing really well yourself. I feel like it's an environment you want to get more and more used to, so it's always fun. I don't see any drawbacks to playing like that.
Q. Obviously you did what you wanted to do, did what you set out to do. It didn't bother you?
CAM DAVIS: Not one bit.
