Q. Tournament record 57 today. If we can get some comments, we'll start with you, Alex, and move over to Matt.

ALEX FITZPATRICK: Yeah, I didn't really do much the first nine holes. I just kind of just let him do his thing. Yeah, it was pretty cool to watch. You know, playing alongside my brother, who happens also to be one of the best players in the world is pretty fun. When he's playing well, it's pretty cool to watch.

MATT FITZPATRICK: Yeah, an amazing day. Amazing day. Probably not kind of sunk in how well we played today, if I'm honest. Yeah, it was just hole after hole. The score, I only just realized we finished with five in a row. You know, you kind of are thinking about the next shot, so you're not really thinking about that.

Yeah, a special day.

Q. Where does this rank, Matt? You play kind of bigger events, but where does this rank in terms of gettability from what you've seen in professional golf course-wise?

MATT FITZPATRICK: Course-wise? Yeah, very gettable. I feel like -- listen, if you hit it wide off the tee, like you are going to struggle because there's trees and stuff. But even coming out the rough, you can have potential for flyers. But if you drive the ball anything like -- you know, you can be aggressive to these pins. You know, the greens are soft, and they're pure as well, so you can you make putts and be aggressive.

Yeah, the score was definitely there, and obviously it's nice for us to do that.

Q. Alex, statistically DP World Tour-wise they don't have strokes gained, but you are sixth in greens hit and I believe 12th in fairways hit, driving accuracy. You were outside the top 100 or almost last year. What specifically changed and when did that happen with the ball striking?

ALEX FITZPATRICK: I ended up changing coach from -- well, to Mike Walker, actually, Matt's old coach. We did a bit of a switch-a-roo. That kind of happened in October last year.

You know, it's just tricky, you know, when you're not playing well, and you feel like things need to change. Last year it got kind of too close for liking where there was only about three or four events left in the year, so I felt like I needed to do something just to keep my card.

Luckily, I made it. It was a good change. Mike has done a really good job with my driver and the rest of my game as well to where I feel in control of my driving, and I feel like I hit a lot of fairways now, and that gives me the opportunity to hit a lot of greens.

I felt like I've put a lot of work in, and happy that it's starting to show.

Q. I'm kind of curious, when you play team play like this format, can you feed off each other? It almost felt like you all today -- it was almost like a game you all were going back and forth feeding off each other's shots.

MATT FITZPATRICK: Yeah, definitely. I felt that way. I feel like -- I felt like we were almost one player in a way. I was helping him on the greens. You know, he was giving me the opportunity to be aggressive into the pins and stuff.

Yeah, it was just a hell of a day. We really feel like that -- I feel like we played fantastic, and arguably -- I think I can think of one bad shot that we both hit, and that was me. Yeah, it was an awesome day.

Q. Alex, you knew the rain came through this morning. Did you all expect there to be opportunities like this today with the conditions?

ALEX FITZPATRICK: I got woken up to lightning at 7:00 a.m. this morning, so I honestly didn't know if we were going to play or not when I looked outside.

But coming out here and it being soft, you know, especially in the four ball format, you knew you were going to have some opportunities.

Yeah, I didn't know -- I didn't think we would have the score we have, but yeah, we've definitely exceeded our expectations for today.

Q. Matt, on 12 the approach, what did you hit there? What was your mindset on that approach?

MATT FITZPATRICK: Yeah, I just hit a really good 5-iron. We had a really good target in mind. It was straight at it. We weren't sure whether the 5-iron would quite get back there. I knew I could hit it as good as I want with a little flight on it.

Yeah, fortunately I did, and it did.

Q. Can you just take me into the family dynamic here. You got your family here. You're on top of the leaderboard with a possible win on Sunday. Just how cool is this moment for both y'all to share it with family members around also?

ALEX FITZPATRICK: Amazing. I don't think you can almost put into words. For me it feels like no matter what happens tomorrow, it's going to be a great week regardless.

You know, just spending time with family that I don't get to do it very often is very, very nice. It makes it a little nicer that we're playing good golf.

We'll see what tomorrow brings, and hopefully we play like we did Friday.

Q. Any dispute on Mr. B's? Was there any game plan at all, or it's just happening and there's no way messing with a good thing?

MATT FITZPATRICK: Why would you? Why would you?

ALEX FITZPATRICK: We got to like 14 and it was like, yeah, we'll probably stick with what we did the other night.

Q. Real quick for Matt, talk about the gratification maybe you get of not -- you're the more accomplished player, but although you kind of shine on the front nine, I mean, Alex really held up his end and just being able to see your brother contribute to the extent that he did with some big shots.

MATT FITZPATRICK: Yeah, he was brilliant today. He was faultless truly. He played fantastic, and he played fantastic yesterday as well. He played brilliant golf both last two days. His game has really turned a corner these last few months, and I believe in him to continue that trend.

He's doing all the right things, and obviously it was nice for him to have such a big impact there on the back nine to continue what the front nine brought.
