Q. Going to be your best finish on the PGA TOUR. How do you feel now that the week's over?
CHANDLER PHILLIPS: Tell you the truth, after 8, I was kind of, I don't know, man, I hit somebody, or, I hit actually two people, and the lady that I hit didn't look too good. So, after that, I wasn't right.
Q. Did that happen on the 8th hole?
CHANDLER PHILLIPS: Yeah.
Q. And it happened again in the round you said?
CHANDLER PHILLIPS: No, no, it like ricocheted off of her and hit another guy. Other than that, played well. I tried to keep my concentration, but kind of lost it for a handful of holes. Just hoping that she's okay. But, yeah, I'm happy. I can't complain.
Q. I know you just got in, but has anybody relayed any information to you about how she's doing?
CHANDLER PHILLIPS: No, no, I want to find out. I really want to get in touch with 'em, just see what I can do. It didn't look great. But, yeah, other than that, it was a good day. I get to play with one of my best friends, college roommate, and it really helped me.
Q. Did you guys talk a lot out there?
CHANDLER PHILLIPS: Yeah, absolutely. I mean, one makes a putt on a hole, staying right there, fist bumping, you know, good putt. It's a lot different than playing with somebody that you've just met for the first time. But Cam's one of my best friends, and it was really fun to play with him today.
Q. Did you look up at the leaderboard any time and see your name at the top or near the top and just kind of, you know, have a little thought to yourself internally about where you were and what you were doing?
CHANDLER PHILLIPS: Yeah, you know, I'm telling you, that 8th hole kind of screwed me up, so it -- not really. I mean, I saw, I mean it's just staring at me in the face on 14, I made birdie there. I think it got me tied for the lead or something like that. But didn't really do anything, because -- it's hard to explain. It's just, the last thing you want to do is hurt somebody out here. We're just trying to have fun and play golf, and all they're trying to do is watch some good golf, and when that happens, it sucks.
Q. When that moment on 8 happened, did you, was it from the tee? Did you see it happen?
CHANDLER PHILLIPS: Yeah, no, I didn't see it happen. I walked up and I saw a guy, he was holding an ice pack on the back of his head. Then I got up there and then I see four or five people crowded around the lady, and I saw blood. I don't know where it hit her, but they, I just wanted to make sure that they had called, like, EMS or something out here, trainers, do whatever they can to help her out. But I didn't even get to talk to her or anything like that. I really hope that she's doing okay. If she's seeing this, I'm truly sorry. Obviously I'm not meaning to do that, so...
Q. How proud are you of this performance?
CHANDLER PHILLIPS: Yeah, no, I mean, I've felt good all year. I've felt like I've -- other than Puerto Rico and Cognizant, I missed the cut, but after the first day I was T-9. So just a bad second day. But throughout the whole year, other than the second day at Cognizant and Puerto Rico, I've felt great. It's nice to finally have it come together. I know I'm not going to win, but it's a step in the right direction. So all I can do is try to keep repeating this and keep putting myself in the same position.
Q. What's up next for you? Next week?
CHANDLER PHILLIPS: Next week, yeah. Going home.
Q. You have a lot of fans and family and friends there?
CHANDLER PHILLIPS: Yeah, yeah. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if some of my friends get kicked out. They're pretty rowdy. But, no, they're going to come out and the family's going to be there, and yeah, I'm excited. Especially coming off of this.
Q. Have your friends or family, have they got a name for your fan club like a group Chandler's Champs or anything like that?
CHANDLER PHILLIPS: No, no. I mean, you damn sure will be able to hear my mom, because she don't even call me by my name, she calls me by my nickname.
Q. Which is?
CHANDLER PHILLIPS: I don't know where she got it, but Goose. Goose. Yeah, she calls me Goose. But she's always the loudest one in the crowd, so it will be cool to hopefully hear that next week and have them all there.
