Quick Quotes

Q. 5-under through two rounds, one off the lead. How do you feel about your game and where you stand going into the weekend?

BEN AN: I'm quite happy. I'm hitting it pretty well. I had some great short game moments out there. Putting's pretty decent. It's been pretty good the last three weeks, not missing many putts. It's not like everything's going in, but I love to have this kind of putting display the last few weeks, so I hope this keeps going. I think I'm hitting it a lot better than the beginning of the year, so hopefully this stays this way, too. I'm quit happy with it overall.

Q. Hitting it better in the beginning of the year, than the beginning of the year, is there anything technical you've tweaked or worked on that's kind of helped you get to a better place?

BEN AN: We always work on something, so not really. Nothing new. Just got to keep an eye on the swings. End of last year, winter time, it felt pretty good and then I kind of let it get off the track a little bit, because we play golf almost every week and the swing kind of changes because you're out there hitting balls instead of in the wintertime I hit balls every day for like two, three months, so my swing is nice and tidy. Once I keep playing it changes a little bit, and I got to keep an eye on the swing. I've been hitting it a little better than at Bay Hill, so just got to keep an eye on it.

Q. Does your body feel any different when you're in contention on the weekend as opposed to like a standard tournament?

BEN AN: I think so, yeah. Not just contention or anything, even Thursday, Friday, it's a little different than the range, obviously. You get a little more kind of result base instead of making the swing I want to. I've been working on that the last couple weeks. It's been feeling a lot better, more toward the range, and still won't be the same as the range swing, but I'm working on trying to make the same range swing out on the course as well.

Q. What are your goals at this point in your career, you've had such a steady career?

BEN AN: My goal this year or the rest of the career?

Q. Either way.

BEN AN: Oh, I mean this year obviously win a tour event and finish in the TOUR Championship. That would be my goal, like every year. Otherwise it would be like, you know, hopefully I get to play PGA TOUR until I'm 50 and then play the Senior Tour. That's kind of a long-term goal. I mean, I'm still young compared to those guys, but, yeah, I would love to play every single year. This is nice.

Q. You won kind of not too far away on the Korn Ferry Tour, what do you remember about that week and what it meant to you to get that title?

BEN AN: It helped. I lost my card in 2022 and then that was only I think it was third event for me and, you know, who knows, I might have still been there, who knows. Now I'm back on the tour, but that third event helped a lot. It helped regaining my confidence going into the whole season and it was kind of easy and then the rest of the year because then I had a win under my belt. So that was definitely a big confidence booster because I had a terrible year before.

Q. In any way was falling back to the Korn Ferry Tour for a year almost good for your career as a whole in terms of reigniting or do you feel like you would have been -- didn't need it?

BEN AN: It always sucks to go back to that tour, but I believe everything happens for a reason. It's maybe that push me to be a better golfer. I feel like I'm a better golfer than five, six years ago, so I guess it helped at the end of the day if I look back on it because I'm not on the Korn Ferry Tour anymore.
