Q. Must have been a nice feeling for you to play well in Puerto Rico to get the start here for the first off.
BLADES BROWN: Yes, a hundred percent.
Q. What was your experience out there today like?
BLADES BROWN: Yeah, I mean, Copperhead course is no joke. You got to know where your golf ball is going. The rough is up, the fairways are tight, and the greens are firm. So when you got all three of those combined it's a really good golf course.
Q. Just want to ask you a little bit about your relationship with Brandt Snedeker, he's near the top of the leaderboard, obviously played pretty well today, as you did too. Just what's what sort of impact has he had on your career so far?
BLADES BROWN: So I grew up playing the Sneds Tour and there was -- how funny is this? So, one of the tournaments -- Sneds is very busy guy. FedExCup champion, very prestigious, right? There was one tournament he was able to go to, and that was when I was I think nine years old. And I remember, I was over about an eight-foot par putt. And I get over it, do my preshot routine, and then I see out of the corner of my eye -- because you can tell, like in junior golf, who is watching you. And I look up and I see it's Brandt Snedeker. And I go -- so I have to back off, and luckily I make the putt. But like, he just played such an influential part of my golf career, the Sneds Tour, and it brings me a lot of joy knowing that he's still got it out here.
Q. What's it like for you to compete in the same tournament as he is?
BLADES BROWN: It's awesome, yeah. He's what, 45? And I'm 18. So every time I see him in the hallway or on the range I give him a little fist bump and we talk for a second. But he's just one of the most positive guys ever. He has been such an influential and just a big inspiration of my golf career and I'm really excited to see he's playing well.
Q. Do you still sort of communicate with him, stay in touch with you when you see him on the range and stuff? Are there any needles or anything like that?
BLADES BROWN: Absolutely, yeah. (Laughing). I don't know if he'll like this, but his ball speed's probably going to be what? 165. And I'm pushing maybe 180. So, I don't know, we just kind of go after it sometimes. Sneds is awesome. I cannot say enough positive things about him. He's just an awesome guy.
