Quick Quotes

Q. Not how you wanted to finish the round but 5-under 66 today. Great playing. What was working for you out there?

CHANDLER BLANCHET: Yeah, a little bit of everything. I hit it really solid yesterday. I thought it was playing a little bit more difficult with the wind. Kept it going today. Hit my irons really well and started making some putts today.

Q. You were could leading up until 18. Did you know that at any point? Did you look up at a leaderboard?

CHANDLER BLANCHET: There were quite a few leaderboards, I saw it once or twice, but yeah, a lot of golf to be played, so all good.

Q. You with were leading after 36 holes in Puerto Rico, so this isn't your first time doing this, but did that experience teach you anything?

CHANDLER BLANCHET: Yeah, a hundred percent. Thankfully I had had a couple of those experiences on Korn Ferry Tour and Latin American Tour. But last week waking up with a four-shot lead on Saturday was definitely a different feeling. Maybe a little uncomfortable. Getting more comfortable being in those. So hopefully find myself up there some more.

Q. You missed the cut by one at Cognizant for your fifth straight missed cut, playing with Smotherman who was leading. What was going through your head that night?

CHANDLER BLANCHET: I was a little aggravated for sure, but I've been doing a lot of good things. I missed a couple cuts by one. Maybe some other stuff is going on, but nothing crazy. I knew good golf was around the corner. Just keep sticking to the guns and get comfortable.

Q. What allowed you to maintain the confidence that good golf was around the corner?

CHANDLER BLANCHET: I feel like I've been around it at least the game long enough, eighth year as a pro, you got ups and downs. But I feel like at this point I know a good amount of things that work for me and what's kind of I can go back to. Just some of the basics, kind of hammered down on those in Puerto Rico and it paid off pretty quick. So keeping that feeling going.

Q. Was there ever a light bulb moment before Puerto Rico that kind of sparked you?

CHANDLER BLANCHET: Not necessarily a light bulb moment. More so just like we got to get out of our own way a little bit. Not necessarily I think the thing I realized was these courses are great and they're tough and it's great competitors, but it's nothing I can't handle. I think the biggest thing for me to get overcome was like getting out of my own way and just kind of go play golf, don't put so much pressure on it.

Q. Talk about that little birdie streak you had going on today from 11 to 14.

CHANDLER BLANCHET: Yeah, it was great. Rolled some good putts in, hit some really good shots. Birdie on 12, the par-3 was really nice. I think that's one of the more difficult holes out here. Hit a great shot and rolled it right in. So that was nice.

Q. You're from Florida, you planning to have some friends and family come out and for you this weekend?

CHANDLER BLANCHET: Yeah, I maxed out all the comp tickets. I got a lot of buddies down from Gainesville, so it should be a good weekend ahead.

Q. Are you going to stick with the same game plan you did the last few days?

CHANDLER BLANCHET: Same game plan. I think we're going to have pretty much the same winds so we're getting more comfortable with the tee shots and how these greens are reacting, so, yeah, same thing next few days.

Q. How do you describe the greens?

CHANDLER BLANCHET: They're great. They're Florida greens. There might be a little overseed in 'em, but they're grainy, fast and slopey. This is what I grew up on so I'm happy to be back here.

Q. Did you learn anything mentally from Puerto Rico?

CHANDLER BLANCHET: Sorry?

Q. Did you learn like something to get you really strong for this week from last week?

CHANDLER BLANCHET: Yeah, for sure. Again, last week in Puerto Rico was huge just to get in those moments. I had a really good Sunday which was awesome and a good momentum and good confidence. Taking that and running with it, keep that going.

Q. What did you do last week, did you practice at all on your week off?

CHANDLER BLANCHET: Yeah, I think I took maybe two days off and then, yeah, I practiced and played up in Atlantic Beach just a little north of Ponte Vedra. I wish I was playing in THE PLAYERS, but next year.
