Quick Quotes

Q. What did you hit on 4?

LUCAS GLOVER: 7. A little one.

Q. Bogey-free here on a Friday. How would you characterize what you were able to do out there?

LUCAS GLOVER: Scrappy, I think, would be a good word. I thought I hit it pretty good and found myself on a lot of fringes and made a couple nice up-and-downs and made a mess of a couple holes and then chipped in.

So just one of those days kind of like that. I had a couple chances coming in, just misread them, so happy with the way I'm playing, just tighten it up a little bit out of the fairway and see where we go.

Q. Your 17th start in this tournament, six top-25s including a tie for 13th a couple years ago. Why does this course and your game seem to match up fairly well?

LUCAS GLOVER: Well, unlike this week, I usually hit a lot of greens. You got to do that here, you got to get it in the fairway and just hit it on the green, because it's not easy to get it too close, you short side yourself a few times, this and that, but ball striking's always been a strength and that's key around here, but my short game's bailed me out the first two days.

Q. What do you embrace about the opportunity ahead of you?

LUCAS GLOVER: Two more rounds to go. A lot can happen. There's still a whole afternoon of golf to play, but I'm happy the way I'm playing, happy with the way I'm putting and just want to have a shot.

Q. The 3, 4, stretch, was a good stretch, could you speak to that?

LUCAS GLOVER: Yeah, I hit a couple of finally got a couple iron shots on line and judged the bounces right. That 6-iron into 3, hit it a couple feet.

Then we were in between 7, 8 on 4 and you got to be behind that hole, so we went with 7 and it turned out to be perfect.

Q. How close did you hit that one?

LUCAS GLOVER: About four feet.

Q. It comes back down, doesn't it?

LUCAS GLOVER: Yeah. Anything short's pretty tough up-and-down and that front bunker always been known to bury, so I didn't want to mess with that, so took one more and just hit it smooth.

Q. Outlook on the game, confidence-wise?

LUCAS GLOVER: Yeah, very confident. I've never been one to fret too much about my ball striking, so if that comes around the way I'm rolling it I think I should be confident.

Q. Are you fretting now? You don't look like you're fretting to me?

LUCAS GLOVER: No, that's what I said, I'm not fretting. Did I use that right?

Q. I think so. I would have to check with someone who knows how to speak English and it ain't either one of us. And, lastly, the conditions, do you see much of a difference late April, mid March?

LUCAS GLOVER: Yeah, looks like they didn't over seed the fairways and I think this is the best I've seen the fairways since the move from the fall. They usually have a little overseed and they, seems like they struggle here with the weather in March. So fairways are a hundred percent Bermuda and they are mint. The greens are perfect. Tees got a little overseed. But the golf course is in great shape.
