Quick Quotes

Q. I know you answered over there, but just sort of walk us through, active day on the scorecard, and then maybe the eagle at 1, just talk us through those things.

DAVIS RILEY: Yeah, I feel like I played really well today. I just had a couple silly mistakes, so I feel like my score could have been a lot better, but I guess you could sit here and play shoulda, coulda, woulda.

But no, the game's in a really good spot, hitting a lot of really high-quality shots, like the eagle on 1, hit a really nice 6-iron to about 20 feet and made the putt. But the game is really good, and I just got to clean up a little bit of the silly mistakes and keep it a little bit cleaner this weekend.

Q. What is it about this place that suits your eye or just makes you feel at least a little comfortable or are you maybe just -- it's a tough place to get comfortable and you're just a little okay at adapting, a little better than others?

DAVIS RILEY: Sure, yeah. I mean, these -- I feel like the Florida swing is very comfortable for me. You have places like this, Sawgrass, Bay Hill, Honda, they all have kind of a similar feel to it, but it's kind of hard to pinpoint one thing. I feel like you got to ball strike it really well around here, and I feel like that's one of the strengths of my game. I've been hitting it -- I didn't hit it very well yesterday, but today from tee to green it was really sold solid. But it's hard to pinpoint one thing. It's just one of those places you just show up and you're kind of comfortable at.

Q. Has that been probably the main thing with this like run of form on the Florida swing, getting into the Open Championship a couple weeks ago and just kind of keeping it going here?

DAVIS RILEY: Yeah, for sure. I didn't exactly have a great West Coast Swing last year. Then kind of starting the, in the Florida Swing, that's kind of where my season jump started. So, yeah, I'm kind of seeing the same trend this season. So I don't know what it is. I'm a southeast kid so maybe there's something, the golf courses, it fits my eye a little bit more. But, yeah, no, I love this place and it's, like I was saying, it's awesome to come back to a place where you played well and you can kind of draw back on some good memories.

Q. Everyone's talking about the weather. I mean, going into, like tonight, sitting on everything, waiting for that, I mean how much does that factor into your night or morning?

DAVIS RILEY: I haven't seen too much of the forecast, but I know that we're expecting a little rain and it will be a little interesting. So, no, just got to plan for a long day and all I can do is handle my business and go about it my way. But, no, I'll be ready whenever we tee up and hopefully it will be, hopefully it will stay away and we can kind of get through the day tomorrow.
