Quick Quotes

Q. What's the initial emotion being that close?

ADAM SCHENK: It stinks. I hit a really bad drive on the last hole. I toed it. Wish I could have lightly hit somebody and stayed where I had a chance to get to the green, but it did not, and I didn't deserve it. I had a chance with the wedge shot that came up short, and then I had a chance with the putt, which surprisingly actually hit the pin and came close.

But it stinks to get so close, but great week all in all, so I can't really complain. David and I did about as good as we could have done with how I hit it today. I didn't hit it quite as good. But very pleased.

Q. The last putt had a little pace to it. Did it look like it had a chance? It was tracking --

ADAM SCHENK: Yeah, I don't know. Second place being my best finish ever, I haven't had a ton of top 10s on the PGA TOUR. So, I mean, I want to close one out some day, but how many chances am I going to have, so I'm not leaving this putt short. I'm getting it to the hole. I did and it was on line. It would have been amazing if it went in, but luckily, it hit the pin or else I would have been another 4, 5 feet behind.

Q. What's it like playing with Jordan? Obviously, he's a popular guy and his game ebbs and flows a lot too, trying to block that out, do your own thing?

ADAM SCHENK: Yeah, he played great today. His short game's -- I knew it was good. It was unbelievable. When he was in the bunker, it seemed like he was trying to make it. I guess that's the point, that he was thinking he was going to make everything. He hit it close. He played nice today. He didn't have a whole lot go his way, I thought. He putted great. Could have made more putts. But I can see how he's won lots of majors and is going to win more in the future and win more tournaments. So he's a really genuine guy to play with and it was a comfortable pairing. I never played with him before. He's a big name, he's a superstar, but he's so nice. It wasn't like an intimidating Jordan Spieth to play with. So it was, he couldn't have been nicer and kinder.

Q. What was it like for you to be in that Sunday arena and when you watch that 71-footer go down?

ADAM SCHENK: 71 feet? Wow.

Q. 71 feet. And an inch. But did you kind of feel, hey this is it, it's my day?

ADAM SCHENK: It was cool. I made one probably 30 or 40 feet at Waste Management on Saturday, so it was crazy. It was kind of the same except louder. Unfortunately someone threw a beer, I think it splashed all over his line, so that probably didn't help make the putt. So that kind of was unfortunate. I didn't want that to happen, neither did he. Cool experience to see it go in, of course.

Q. Does it surprise you that that putt, the 71-footer was the longest of your career?

ADAM SCHENK: It does. I made one on THE PLAYERS, my first PLAYERS on hole like 14, the par-4 with water left. 14, I think it is. It was the longest putt on that green that's been made on THE PLAYERS because it popped up on the board the next day or maybe later. This was my first PLAYERS, like three or four years ago. I thought that one was longer, but I would be interested to see how long that putt was because it had to be close.

Q. They told us today that this one was the longest one.

ADAM SCHENK: Yeah, great time for it to happen, too.

Q. What's the mix as you go home? You have such a great week and come that close and then there's kind of the gut punch of not winning. What's the mix of that for you?

ADAM SCHENK: The mix of that is, I mean, like I told David, I wasn't worried about the field today, I wasn't worried about Jordan. I wanted to play my game. The situations that I put myself in, I wanted David and I just to do the best that we could do from what we did. I think we did that today. I just, unfortunately, hit a bad drive on the last hole and that's just the way the, just the way it worked out.
