Q. In a with a 7-under 64, bogey-free, and as you just said to Fred, no fives on the scorecard. Always a fun time, right?
STEPHAN JAEGER: Yeah, that means you have done things well. I took care of the par-5s, which they're somewhat gettable on this golf course. It also means you made no bogeys on par-4s.
Overall a solid day.
Wasn't really a leak in the game, which was nice.
Q. Talk about the condition of the golf course after all the rain we had yesterday and the overseed and how different it is.
STEPHAN JAEGER: Yeah, obviously when we got here Monday, Tuesday, it was pretty firm. The greens are firm. The rough is obviously thick in some spots. You can get a good lie here and there, but it plays awesome.
I think that's the first year they've done it obviously, and with the rough being up this golf course has a little bit of more teeth than it has in the past.
And I don't know what they did, but it was dry. After two and a half inches of rain last night it's pretty impressive. We were even early; didn't have anything.
The overseed probably soaked some of that up. Drainage was incredible for sure.
Q. Fifth or sixth start here and I think 72 is your highest score in that period of time. What is it about this golf course that fits you?
STEPHAN JAEGER: Yeah, I don't know. I think the sightlines fit me pretty well off the tee. You know, the greens are always so pure. Pure bent, right, so that's kind of what I grew up on playing.
Find that probably easiest to read of all the strands of grass that we play on. So I always am excited to hear that. We love this area. Always got the family with me, so it's nice to kind of feel comfortable, and like the golf course for sure.
Q. With the washout yesterday, how did you spend the day?
STEPHAN JAEGER: Yeah, we have an airbnb. There is a slide in one the rooms, so I think my son went down that slide maybe 200 times.
Yeah, day like that you're just trying to stay busy. With a little one, it's pretty easy to stay busy that way. Yeah, we didn't have a problem with that.
