Q. 18-under and bogey-free heading into the weekend. How are you feeling?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Feeling good. I had two nice days. We'll see how the scores shake out as more guys come in.
Overall, very pleased with how I played. Yeah, pretty good. Go home, get a little bit of rest, and get ready for tomorrow.
Q. With the heavy rain, it didn't seem like it was too much of an issue on that back -- or your second nine. How would you characterize that?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: The golf course was pretty wet, but overall I think it recovered nicely. We got a good amount of rain today, and we got a good amount of rain on Wednesday as well. I thought the golf course held up nice. The greens were pretty good still.
There were some fairways that were pretty wet, but other than that, I think the golf course held up pretty well.
Q. Scottie, you talked yesterday about looking forward to winning, you're ready to win. Do you feel like this week you kind of released some frustration? You're taking all the near misses, and the first few days have really been what you expect from your game?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I don't really remember saying any of that stuff, but yeah, I feel like my game's in a good spot. I feel like I'm trending in the right direction.
Today I had two really solid days of golf, and looking forward to getting out tomorrow and trying to execute some more shots.
Q. Does it feel like this is what it felt like last year? You're beginning to have that feeling again like those times you won last year?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Like I said, I feel like my game has been trending in the right direction. I had some good starts recently. I had a good start at the Masters, solid start, and then I had a chance here in Houston.
Overall, I had a decent week in Hilton Head. I didn't have a great Sunday, but overall I played some pretty solid golf. So I definitely feel like my game is trending in the right direction.
Q. Six hour rain delay. What do players do to help kill the time?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I made a few trips in there to player dining, had a good amount of food. The food is just sitting there. So we enjoyed some food, sat there, kind of hung out with some of the guys and didn't do too much.
Q. Any fellow players the best storytellers?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: There's some good storytellers. Hung out with Chandler Phillips. He's a good storyteller. I was in there with Burnsy as well and Trevor Cone. We had some fun in there.
Q. Scottie, just tied a large list in second as far as lowest 36 holes to start a tournament. What's it like to do that here in Dallas?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: We're on a golf course where you've got to make some birdies, and the conditions today were changing a good amount. Obviously with the huge rain delay, that was a challenge as well. Getting back out and playing in some wind and some pretty wet fairways, but overall, it's great to be playing at home.
This tournament means a lot to me, and it's nice to be playing good golf as well.
Q. You've always had a number of 36-hole leads in your career. Have you learned anything about navigating those into the weekend from the first one until now, I guess?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Shoot, I couldn't tell you what the first one was, but I feel like I've had some success out here on TOUR. Last year was a great year for me, so I've definitely had some good experiences playing with the lead, and I'll definitely lean on those as the weekend shapes up.
Overall, going into tomorrow, I don't know if I'll have the lead or not. Right now I do, but there's a lot of golf left to be played. I had two solid days. Two more of those, and I should be in a good spot.
Q. Scottie, you know better than most how hard it is to win out here. Doing this at home in front of all your friends and family and a chance to complete the DFW double. Is that an extra kick to you? Winning is hard anywhere, but to do this at home in front of friends and family, does that have an extra kick to you?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: This tournament definitely means a lot to me. I haven't won Colonial yet, so I'm not even close to the DFW double -- is that what we're calling it?
Going into the weekend, I'm just going to do my best to stay focused, execute. It's going to be a lot of fun to play here and have a chance to win. I put myself in good position the last two days, and I'm looking forward to getting out there and competing again tomorrow.
