Quick Quotes

Q. Sam, you came over here feeling good. 10-under today. Career-low round on the PGA TOUR. How are you feeling?

SAM BURNS: Yeah, everything out there felt great. Just feel like we got into a good rhythm throughout the round. Made a run right there on the back nine, and so it was nice to be able to finish it off with two birdies at the end.

Good way to end the day. Just trying to get a good game plan out here for tomorrow and let's see what happens.

Q. Coming off a win at Valspar last week, a breakthrough win like that can create a lot of confidence.

SAM BURNS: Yeah.

Q. How much has this confidence helped you the past two days?

SAM BURNS: The biggest thing for me is just seeing the hard work that we put in it, start seeing results from that. A lot of times you don't know how long the results are going to take. Golf is a fickle game.

It's cool to see some feedback from the progress we've made back home and seeing it in tournament play as well.

Q. Fifth time with a 36-hole lead. What are the keys that you're telling yourself as you walk into tomorrow?

SAM BURNS: I think just continue to do what we been doing. Don't do anything more than I have to. Don't try to play outside what I'm capable of. Just continue to put ourselves in the right spots and see what happens.

Q. And conditions-wise today was more difficult than yesterday, yet you came out here and shot the lowest score that we've seen. So how did you find the conditions?

SAM BURNS: Yeah, definitely think we had more wind. Honestly, I think for me, you were able to get a little more run-out on the greens. They were a little bit quicker today, so I felt like I didn't have to hit it quite as hard on the greens. Just kind of stroke it a little bit better.

So, yeah, the golf course is in great shape. Starting to dry out a little bit, which is nice.
