Q. 1-under total today, 56 points, 5th place finish. This is your best finish here. Walk through the round today. Four birdies on the back. Just walk through your final round today.
AARON RODGERS: I hadn't hit it close really all week, but I didn't make a lot of mistakes. I had zero doubles for the entire tournament, which that is pretty good playing.
My game is not the prettiest at all. It's a lot of real ugly shots. But I'm scrappy. I hit it to about an inch on 5 today for a tap-in birdie. I hit on the back 10 about three feet, kind of got on the roll 13, 14, hit a couple 20-footers.
It was pretty steady today. I have low expectations, so I surprised myself pretty good.
Q. Overall happy with the way you finished and kind of with the four birdies on the back?
AARON RODGERS: Yeah, for sure. Last year I played front 40 on the last round and 32 on the back with an eagle. I thought I was going to be close to that. I had pitching wedge coming in. Hit it good on the putt, I just haven't read the greens well all week.
But I'm excited to finish in the top 5 and be the top active football player. There's some really good players on the board. And I'm not one of them. Watch me on the range, you'd be surprised I'm scoring this much. But I am pretty crafty, and I got a few shots in the bag. And I'm damn competitive.
I love this event. I love coming back here. And proud of Steph the way he's playing. Steph and Mardy are good friends of mine. Looks like they're betting down the stretch.
Q. Just talk about the experience and the atmosphere here. Record crowds, obviously, this week. But just talk about the overall experience of playing this event.
AARON RODGERS: I've been here 19 years. Every year I've been in the league, this has been kind of the last stop before training camp. Something you look forward to every single year. There's a lot of great people out here. I've seen a lot of fans, have their kids grow up. There's a couple that watch them every year. When I first started here, they had no kids; now they have three. Means I've been here a while. That and the gray hair on the beard.
But big kudos to not just Johnson Thomas and everybody at the American Century, but Jon Miller does an incredible job, Gary Quinn, Mike Milthorpe, putting on a hell of an event that everybody wants to get into. It's tough to get into the field. I've been fortunate enough to be invited every year the last 19 years. And I love this event. I love coming back here. Cherry on the top, playing well.
Q. Playing with Annika today, just talk about playing with arguably one of the greatest women golfers of all time.
AARON RODGERS: She's an absolute legend and a great person. I've gotten to know her and her husband, Mike, over the last few years. I love them. And I was actually pining for this pairing just because I've never been close to her. She's usually been way, way at the top, and I've been trying to work my way up.
I'm glad we got to play together. Jake is a good friend. Been a good friend for a long time. So it's kind of a dream pairing for me today.
But Annika is a legend. Loved watching her in the Open last week or the week before. What she's done for women's golf is incredible. She's inspired a generation of women to dream and try and achieve anywhere near her type of success which will never happen because she's a one of one, but also an incredible human being.
