Press Conference

Q. Let's talk about the hole-in-one, 143 yards, 9-iron?

TIM BROWN: Yeah, I didn't hit it the way I wanted to. I was trying to hit it up to the right and I pulled it a little bit. I was starting to complain and noticed the ball was going at the hole. Of course I didn't think it was going to go in.

But then the crowd up there went crazy, and I didn't even know about the boat. I saw the boat there. And Marcus Allen said, "Man, you just won a boat." I was like, "What?" We really went crazy after that, getting up on the boat dancing doing the whole thing. It was a great moment.

Q. Why did you think that boat was there?

TIM BROWN: Yeah, you don't think about it, but it's been a lot of years there I've hit shots here. But it was a great moment, no doubt.

Q. You've been pretty jacked up all day long after that or what?

TIM BROWN: It took a couple of holes. I think I double bogeyed the next few holes after that. But it takes a while to calm down after something like that. I played pretty good. Ended up with 17 points today. I'm happy with that.

Q. When Steph made the hole-in-one last year on 7, he said the same thing afterwards. I was so sky high afterwards. He said it took him a couple of holes to calm down.

TIM BROWN: He's a better golfer than me. Maybe he didn't double bogeyed, maybe he just bogeyed. It was a moment that obviously I'll never forget. And having Marcus and Jerome, my buddies, with me on the hole made it even more special.

Q. We understand this is your fifth ace.

TIM BROWN: Yeah, I just had one on the par-3 course at Augusta a couple months ago. I don't know if I'm supposed to say that. You're not supposed to announce anything you do there.

Also had one at TPC Sawgrass, Island hole, couple years ago. That was an amazing moment too.

Q. You've got some nice golf courses you've aced.

TIM BROWN: You know, Pebble Beach. I have to get one there, I guess.

Q. Tell us about your boating background.

TIM BROWN: My dad has had a boat called Lucky Lady, and he passed away some years ago. The boat is absolutely no good but it's sitting at my mom's house still. So maybe we'll replace that with this one and call it Lucky Lady and go from there. We'll see what happens. I'll let mom make that decision.

Q. When you made the hole-in-one, you didn't realize that you hit the hole-in-one first. So talk about the reaction as you were walking down the hole.

TIM BROWN: I think that initially -- I mean, once I saw the ball got up to the green, I was happy about that because I didn't hit it the way I wanted to. I thought it was going to be short. All of a sudden you saw the people up there go nuts, and so it was sort of delayed reaction for us because we couldn't see the ball go in the hole. But it's quite the moment. It's one of those things you dream about, but everything is going to happen. So it was great.

Q. What are you going to tell Jerry Rice when you see him about this hole?

TIM BROWN: He was right across. He saw it. He came over and hugged me. But it was -- it's not really a real hug. It was a "that should have been me" hug. But, no, Jerry, we shared these types of things before. So that was great.

Q. Rank these three in order for you: Heisman, yellow jacket, gold jacket, now hole-in-one?

TIM BROWN: Let me tell you, in my office I have the Heisman. I have the Hall of Fame bus and I have the ball from TPC Sawgrass that I made. And my boy's like, look, man, I know this football thing is special, but that golf ball, what you did, that may be the best things you've ever done.

Doing it in this situation in a tournament with a prize, it's second to none. You can't throw out the Heisman and Hall of Fame, but these rank high, no doubt.

Q. What is this, 24th year, 25th --

TIM BROWN: 23rd, 24th year.

Q. -- playing at American Century Championship. Biggest thrill?

TIM BROWN: Without a doubt for me. I played well a couple of times. Put up 20, 22 points. But never anything like this where you make a hole-in-one with a big prize on the line. I think this is most definitely my biggest moment here.

Q. You've got two more rounds. Just to let you know, okay, you make an ace on 17, it's a million dollars from American Century Investments. Just so you know. And you get to split half of that with the Stowers Institute for Medical Research. So you've got two more shots at it.

TIM BROWN: I'm looking forward to it. I have a hard time with that hole. I parred it today. But that would be the ultimate right there, no doubt. But Marcus Allen says if I have another hole-in-one anytime soon, he's going to investigate me because there's something going on.

Q. Is this the shortest ace you've made, it was 143 with a 9-iron. Do you remember --

TIM BROWN: No, TPC Sawgrass was 137, I believe. Hit a pitching wedge on that one. So this is probably second shortest.

Q. Where is the party tonight?

TIM BROWN: Well, I told everybody, I don't drink so lemonades on everybody, all the lemonades you want.
