Q. What are your thoughts on how this course fits your game?
MATTHIEU PAVON: Yeah, a pretty good round. To be fair, I didn't know really what to expect after the bad Olympics week I had. But grinded hard last week, felt a little bit better and better every day, and I found myself pretty comfortable today on the golf course. Didn't make big mistakes, avoiding big numbers, and on small yardages I managed to hit the ball quite close to the pins and make some birdies, so that was a pretty good round.
Q. You mentioned the Olympics. I know you didn't play as well as you would have liked to there, but what was the difference crowd-wise? Were you able to feed off the crowd in Paris?
MATTHIEU PAVON: Yeah, I think Paris was looking like a Ryder Cup, kind of. I never experienced that before. But it was really looking like a Ryder Cup. But instead of all those people coming for a team, they were coming mostly for the two French guys because I think like 80 percent of the crowd was probably French or 70 percent, whatever. So it was pretty big. It was a lot of emotion. It was a great week overall. I didn't manage to bring my "A" game, but that was just a week I'll remember for life.
Q. You shot a 65 today. Do you think your game suits you well to play in this kind of heat in Memphis?
MATTHIEU PAVON: Yeah, I don't know if my game in particular suits that course. As I said, I felt comfortable with some of the numbers I had today. My only regret is not taking any birdies on the par-5s. But never been really in trouble, missed only a couple fairways, not many. So it was overall a very solid day.
Q. This is your first visit to the FedExCup Playoffs. Where do the Playoffs stand for you with this being your first full year on TOUR? Do you classify it differently? Is this where you saw yourself at the beginning of the season?
MATTHIEU PAVON: Yeah, to be fair when I started the season it was just trying to keep my status, maybe making top 70 and at least play here in Memphis. But that wind kind of put me on top of the pack. A couple good finishes in majors with the Masters and U.S. Open kept me on top, also. Now it's just about making steps every day to get closer to Atlanta, which is pretty good.
