Quick Quotes

Q. You started this year on a medical and now next year you're in all the Signature Events. When you put it that way, what's that progression mean?

BUD CAULEY: Yeah, it's really nice. I was thinking about it this morning before I played, like how I felt today is kind of how I felt starting the year, trying to fulfill my medical and get in all these events.

It was stressful today, but yeah, I'm happy to be in all those events.

Q. I know pressure is a privilege, but how would you describe that out there as you were trying to battle your way in, and all this week for that matter?

BUD CAULEY: Yeah, I was feeling it for sure. I got off to a pretty good start. I was hitting the ball well. I didn't make too many putts. Then as it got there on the back nine, I knew I was kind of right there on the edge, and I was trying not to look, and I just happened to like out of my peripheral vision catch it on a couple holes to see where I was projected to be.

Yeah, it was a lot of pressure and I'm just thankful that bunker shot went in on 17.

Q. When you saw where you were projected to be, what was your emotion?

BUD CAULEY: I was like, dammit, I was trying not to look.

No, it was kind of what I thought. I wasn't surprised. I knew that where I was on the leaderboard and just kind of how the point work, I knew I didn't have any shots to play with. There wasn't any surprise, I guess.

Q. Can you describe the bunker shot on 17?

BUD CAULEY: Yeah, that hole has been kind of kicking my ass all week, especially yesterday, and then today I pulled it in the left rough again and just happened to get a little bit better lie than I did yesterday and was able to get it around that tree and that bunker. That's right where we were trying to hit it.

It really wasn't that difficult of a bunker shot. Kind of uphill. The green was pitched into me. I just kind of got lucky it happened to go in.

Q. They were saying on the broadcast it might have been a few feet by if it hadn't gone in. How far by do you think it might have gone?

BUD CAULEY: I mean, who cares.
