Quick Quotes

Q. Tommy, good playing. Third start, in the top 10 in each of your last two starts. What works well for you when you come to Canada even though it's three different courses?

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: I like the style of golf over here, and I think the tournaments, the way they've been set up -- in particular, the past two years -- I think it puts a premium on putting the ball in play.

I think you have to methodically make your way around these courses, or that's what it seems to have been like the times that I've played. And I like golf that way really. You have choices to make off the tee, got to be patient, a lot of different attributes.

Yeah, it's been good for me in the past, and hopefully I can keep that going.

Q. Anything you need to improve on over the next few rounds?

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, like I just said how important it is, premium on driving, and I don't think I drove it very well. I made the most of the opportunities I had on the front nine. Back nine got a bit scrappy.

So I think, yeah, I'll just go and do some work on my tee shots, hopefully put the ball in play and feel like I can get at the golf course from there tomorrow. Like I said, just got a bit scrappy towards the end, but I did a great job of scrambling.

Yeah, I went bogey-free, so it couldn't have been that bad. But I'd obviously like to improve on that.

Q. Obviously the fans are familiar with you, and playing with Corey today, how were the crowds out there for your group?

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: It's always great. They're so enthusiastic about golf and their nation and their players. I've been lucky, I'm very grateful they've always been very supportive of me, and I've had some good times at the tournament.

Yeah, I do. I think it's a great atmosphere to play in front of, and everybody sort of appreciates the enthusiasm they have when we come to this tournament.

Q. Lastly, yesterday you announced the partnership between you and the AJGA, the International Pathway series. How excited are you for those events, and what went into the decision to partner with them?

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, it's been great. I partnered with it through the Academy in Dubai. I think it's just great for the region to have the opportunity. Golf is growing all the time over there, and I'm lucky to be a part of it now with the Academy.

Junior golf and sort have given younger golfers the opportunity to have that kind of tournament and give themselves a pathway to furthering their career and get the chance to go to college if that's what they want to do.

I think it's also important -- very happy, we've been lucky in we've been talking about trying to make this partnership happen for quite a while, and we've finally been able to do it. I think it's very exciting for everyone in the region.

I'm lucky that I'm somebody that's been able to partner up and do it, but it's more for the players over there in the Middle East and Europe and having the opportunity. Hopefully it's the start of something long term and very special.
