Q. Great playing. What's been clicking?
JOEL DAHMEN: Putted well this week. Hit it well. Kind of done everything well. Just kind of sticking with my process doing the same thing over and over again. Over two days it adds up pretty nicely.
Q. Not to ask for secrets, but what are a couple things in your process that have been, you've been feeling good about that have helped you this week?
JOEL DAHMEN: More visualization preshot. Worked hard on that recently. Being just very committed to what I'm doing. Like having a clear plan. Which sounds weird that I've played golf a long time without a clear plan maybe. But, yeah, it's doing the same thing over and over again and it's worked out great.
Q. So this is the clearest plan you've had in awhile, would you say?
JOEL DAHMEN: Yeah, I mean, everyone has a plan, right, you aim, you get a number, you aim and you do this. But it's just a little bit more in depth, more conversation with Geno preshot. Not wondering, getting into the shot or halfway through a swing wondering what I'm doing. Harry Higgs talked about it a lot the last two weeks, and it's kind of the same thing, really, you accept where it goes and you go and you do it again. It frees me up to play golf and let my body take over. My body knows what to do if I just kind of stay out of the way.
Q. You mentioned Harry Higgs. Obviously a couple great weeks on the Korn Ferry Tour. You've been close with him, has that been cool and inspiring, him gone through some struggles?
JOEL DAHMEN: Yeah, totally, it's been a couple years of really bad golf for him. I've watched him on the range, I stayed with him in houses. You always want your buddies to play well, and he's figured out what works for him. It wasn't a matter of if he was coming back, it was just a matter of when. To see it kind of go back-to-back, and Harry's one of the best players in the world and he's showing it. Pretty cool that he'll be back out here again next year.
Q. 10 years since your great season on Canada Tour, Player of the Year. When you come back to Canada do you have a chance to reflect on what that year was like?
JOEL DAHMEN: I haven't played in this event in five years. I came here on Tuesday and I just kind of had great vibes again. I almost felt bad I hadn't been back. The schedule didn't work out previously. It is, it's a really special place. Not even just the golf I had, but I still have, like most of my best friends are from the Canadian TOUR. We're still in a group chat, we still text all the time, I still talk to 'em, still see 'em. So more of that, oh, I've kind of been in these parts, and the memories off the golf course are just as good as the ones on.
Q. Who is a couple of those friends?
JOEL DAHMEN: Will Strickler, who I saw in Dallas, Creighton Honeck, Micah Burke, Brandon Harkins, who is still on the Korn Ferry Tour. Sean Shahi. Just a really good crew of dudes. We've all grown up, we all have kids now, it's very different when we get together than it used to be, but we still have a great time and yeah, just, man, a lot of great times up here.
Q. How did that TOUR help you kind of keep your career going?
JOEL DAHMEN: Yeah, it was everything to me. I didn't know anything when I came up here. I was 22 years old, traveling around. I didn't know how to travel. I didn't know how to play a real golf course. I didn't know, never really played with a cut before, like all those things. It took me five years to figure it out to get off the, from playing up here, but, yeah, between that and the Korn Ferry Tour, like it's really cool.
Q. In terms of this weekend, you've been here before, you know what's it like. Knowing that you put yourself in position to be one of those final couple groups, you'll have a late afternoon tee time tomorrow?
JOEL DAHMEN: Yeah, real late. I heard it's going to be like 3 o'clock tomorrow. The last time I had one of those was a U.S. Open. So that's a good thing, right. We've talked about this. We've prepared for this. I believe I should be here, it's where I'm supposed to be, so I'm excited to hit golf shots under the gun on the weekend. I haven't done that in a long time, so I'm excited for that.
