Quick Quotes

Q. Current leader of the tournament. If we can get some comments on your play today and then also you finished up there on 18, that was quite a shot.

WYNDHAM CLARK: Yeah, honestly I played really good. It was tough out there. It was windy, there was some tough pin placements. You guys have seen, these greens are very tough and you get into some tough spots where you have to be defensive even from 10, 15 feet.

So, yeah, overall I played really good. I felt really confident with my game and, yeah, then on 18 --

Q. Ask him about the best shot on TOUR this year.

WYNDHAM CLARK: (Laughing) Yeah, on 18 I unfortunately hit a poor shot into the green, but from a semi-plugged lie on a down slope probably the best shot of the week, at least for me. Really had no chance. And I would love to say I was trying to do what I did, but I was trying to punt a little bit out to the right and somehow how I came into the ball it like plopped up to the left and landed in the rough and trickled down to four feet and it was definitely the best save I've had of the year. It was pretty awesome.

Q. How confident were you on that shot?

WYNDHAM CLARK: Oh, not as confident as maybe it looked. I was more just trying to get it on the green and try to 2-putt and get out of there with a bogey. Made par, so it was great.

Q. Eight greens today. What did you make of your approach-shot game?

WYNDHAM CLARK: A couple times my body shut down and I hit a couple left shots. I felt really good. I didn't feel terrible with my ball striking. I just, it was a little tougher, the wind was sporadic and if you missed some fairways it's hard to hit the greens. I have a great short game and I'm a good putter so if I miss greens I don't freak out too much. Going forward on the weekend I would like to hit some more greens. So I'm not too concerned. I think I'm going to hit it great tomorrow.

Q. What's your mindset going into round three tomorrow?

WYNDHAM CLARK: Really no different than the last couple days. I played great. I had a little, some little mishaps coming in, but other than that I played some great golf for 36 holes. I think if I do that again I think I'll have a great chance come Sunday.
