Q. Harris, nice round.
HARRIS ENGLISH: Thank you.
Q. Good playing. How would you describe playing on this course? I've heard everything from playing on the surface of moon to similar to like Arizona desert golf. How would you describe this?
HARRIS ENGLISH: Yeah, it's unlike anything I've ever seen, especially with the black lava rock. I haven't played a ton of desert golf other than next week in Vegas, a little bit of Phoenix I guess you would call desert golf.
So I wouldn't say I'm used to this terrain a whole lot. For me, it's a little more blind shots than we're used to. You see it over in Scotland and England in the British and Scottish Opens.
You just got to pick really good lines and hit your targets, trust that you're aiming the correct spot. For us out here on TOUR, we're used to seeing landing areas a lot more and being able to see where the fairway starts.
So it's a little different out here when you're seeing a lot of the black rock everywhere. It's a lot of fun. I've had a lot of friends and family text me of how cool this course looks on TV. It's a lot of fun to play. They've done a great job hosting this event and have the course in unbelievable shape.
Q. You're in that 51 to 60 zone right now. Of course that would mean you get into those two early Signature Events. Is that something you think about very much? Or do you just think, I'll just go and try to win and that will take care of everything?
HARRIS ENGLISH: Every time I tee it up you're trying to win. I'm not really caught up in all that. Playing good golf is a lot of fun and that's why I play. I'm here to try to win, get up the leaderboard, and get those nerves going on Sunday and those butterflies and see if you can pull off a win.
If I'm doing those things I feel like I'm doing everything I need to do, and I don't get caught up in the points right now. If it works out, it works out. If not, I'll start at the Sony Open and get after it again next year.
Q. You've won out here before. Been in position to win and not won. How would you describe sort of the challenge of coming out on top on a Sunday on the toughest tour in the world really?
HARRIS ENGLISH: Yeah, it's hard. It's really hard to win. You got to have some things go your way throughout the week and especially on Saturday, Sunday.
But for me, I play my best golf when I just let it come to me and not try to force it, not try to win on Saturday or Sunday. Just play you game. I have a good game plan with my caddie, Eric, and stick to that.
If you get some putts to go in, get some momentum in the right direction, you can get the trophy on Sunday.
But it's really just about putting yourself in position with six, nine holes to go and see what happens.
Q. Do you look at the boards?
HARRIS ENGLISH: I do for sure. I kind of use it as motivation. Yeah, especially that late in the round. You kind of like to see where you are and see if you need to take a few more chances or go for par-5s in two or play a lot more aggressive than you normally would.
Because we're all out here to win. That's why you play the game.
