Q. Good start to your tournament week. Can you kind of summarize how it went?
THORBJØRN OLESEN: Yeah, it was a nice surprise. Haven't felt that good with my game the last few (video froze). Felt like the body and the swing was a lot better than last couple of days.
Yeah, felt like I hit a lot of good iron shots, rolling some nice putts, especially on the last nine holes.
Q. Kind of heard you talking with Todd about your schedule. Where did you come from and what is your schedule?
THORBJØRN OLESEN: Yeah, I've been a little bit all over. Played Mississippi then went to Madrid, back to Dubai where I live, and then come here. I think that played in also to not the best practice the last few days.
I was a little bit tired. Yeah, I felt a lot better today. Obviously really pleased with this round.
Q. Why do you think you felt better? Maybe in some way not having expectations?
THORBJØRN OLESEN: Yeah, I would say my expectations were pretty low this morning. But, yeah, did some recovery work the last few days and just tried to get the body ready for today.
Q. And will you try and play out the string here in the States? Will you go back?
THORBJØRN OLESEN: No, no, I'll stay out here, yeah. Yeah.
Q. I was taking a look at your season. It's been kind of on paper looks like an up-and-down season. Missed cut, make a cut, missed cut, make a cut. Can you talk a little bit about your season and how that rhythm has been maybe hard to get momentum rolling?
THORBJØRN OLESEN: I feel like there has been actually quite a lot of good stuff. I don't think I missed that many cuts over here. You know, I haven't quite finished it off on Sundays.
Feel like I have been in some pretty good positions on Friday and Saturday and just sort of had nine bad holes and that's costing me.
So, you know, it only takes a couple of good Sundays and then it would've been a good season. That's how I look at it. There is still quite a few tournaments left. There is some good opportunities.
Q. This time of the season it's obviously important. Some of the rankings, some of the numbers games are important. Finishing in the Top 60 or in that top 100. How much are you paying attention to some of those, your position in those rankings specifically?
THORBJØRN OLESEN: Yeah, I mean, I'm a good bit out of the top 100 and obviously I want to 6get in the top 100. It's going to take quite a lot of points to get there. Yeah, there is still four tournaments left. Every week is an opportunity.
I feel like I have the stuff to win out here. Haven't been able to do it. I feel like if I can pull it off, one of the Sundays, I have a good chance.
Q. After a round like today, knowing for the next three rounds, any big takeaways for this golf course and for your strategy the next couple days?
THORBJØRN OLESEN: No. I feel like it's pretty set what you hit from the tee boxes, and I feel like obviously the fairways are pretty generous. If you get off the fairway you're in big trouble.
So it does take some discipline. There are a couple greens out there where you need to be on the right side as well.
Definitely takes a bit of discipline.
