Quick Quotes

DAVID LIPSKY: (In progress) ...got anything else there. Luckily was a little into the wind which actually helped the shot. So it sort of took long out of play so I could hit it as hard as I wanted to. Pulled off the shot, got the right bounces. Yeah, I think trickled up there to eight, nine feet.

Q. It's a unique setup here and then playing at elevation. What were the course conditions out there and I guess comfort level being from out in this area?

DAVID LIPSKY: You know, it was nice that where I live in Vegas and here it's very similar altitude so my numbers are really easy. It was really easy. You know, I have to convert when I go back to sea level now. So it was really comfortable, you know, all my yardages, clubs today.

And then the course is in great shape. Greens are pure. They're rolling -- they're firm and fast and the course is just overall in great shape.

Q. Did you feel pretty good about your game coming in?

DAVID LIPSKY: Yes and no. We had -- I had to do some work on Tuesday and Wednesday with my coach. He figured something out; helped me strike the ball a little bit more consistently, a little bit straighter, and I guess it worked out.

Q. Was it a pretty simple fix? Sometimes it's just an adjustment.

DAVID LIPSKY: I just need to stay in posture a little bit better. I was coming out of the shot, so my coach and I worked on some things to help me keeping my spine angle through the shot more so, especially the longer the club gets.

Q. And did you hit it good? You must have.

DAVID LIPSKY: Yeah, I think I hit it pretty well. Iron play and approach play today was excellent I would say. Just got to try to keep going the rest of the week.

Q. Your eagle putt at 18, obviously what was the length and how is your putter figuring in your score today?

DAVID LIPSKY: I had like a nine-footer I think up the hill a little bit left to right; played it left edge and went in right center.

It was actually -- I hit it close a lot today so I had a lot of tap-in birdies. I also had quite a few like mid-range putts, like 10 to 15 feet, and burned a lot of edges today.

So I was really happy to see that last one go in and give me some confidence going into tomorrow.

Q. Always say it could've been better but here you are in a good place.

DAVID LIPSKY: Exactly.
