Q. Pierceson, 7-under, bogey-free second round. You had some holes to finish the first round. Talk about the long day you had.
PIERCESON COODY: Yeah, no, it was a long day, but probably all in all it was a good away, good draw, again, to come out and finish in the morning, just a little softer, not -- zero wind.
So it really felt like a good break to get to come out and play a few par-5s without any wind. Took advantage and kept it going into the second round.
Q. Talk about the challenges this course presents, especially with the lava rocks off to the side.
PIERCESON COODY: Yeah, it's what you see on TV I guess. It's fairway or lava. There is really no in between.
So that can be a positive. It can make you get up there and hit the shot that you need to hit knowing there is no bail-out.
So it's a good golf course. It's matured well. It's playing really nice.
Q. Played this year on conditional status and then top 20 on KFT. Can you talk about this fall what the goal is, mentality? Are you playing a little bit more freely?
PIERCESON COODY: Yeah, no, I would have killed for this situation I'm in now at the beginning of the year with conditional status, so knowing I have my card back is obviously freeing.
But, yeah, I still feel like there is the big goal of I can get in the top 100. I don't know what the points are but I know I have at least three or four events to do that and some really nice weeks I could accomplish that goal. To retain my status for the first time on the PGA TOUR would be really nice.
