THE MODERATOR: We'd like to welcome Jackson Koivun into the interview room here at the Bank of Utah Championship, making his debut appearance at this event.
Jackson, first of all, welcome to Utah. If we could get some comments on being here. Also, you just got off the golf course. What are your thoughts?
JACKSON KOIVUN: It's beautiful here. I've seen this golf course on the media a couple times, and I always thought it looked great. Then getting out here in person, it's awesome. Course conditions are great. I'm assuming it's going to get a little firmer throughout the week knowing we got some rain the past couple days. I'm just excited to get out there and compete.
THE MODERATOR: Just a few days removed from the Presidents Cup, I know a week that you will remember forever. If we could get some comments on what the entire week was like and just talk a little bit about Sunday night.
JACKSON KOIVUN: Presidents Cup was so much fun, just being able to be in that team atmosphere again. It was such an experience. Then being able to come back from a pretty large deficit as a team, it was quite special to be able to put a point up for Team USA.
THE MODERATOR: You won at the 3M, now you've won at Presidents Cup, but I know you still have a lot to play for here coming up. Just talk about you're No. 62 in the FedExCup and what your goals are during the fall.
JACKSON KOIVUN: Obviously getting inside that top 60 for the beginning of next year is very important. Coming to Utah, just trying to start creeping further and further inside that FedExCup to get myself into those first two Signature Events would be largely important.
Q. Jackson, tee shot on 18 on Sunday, what was going through your mind when the ball was still in the air?
JACKSON KOIVUN: Si Woo hit a great drive down there, and I knew I needed to apply some pressure. Honestly, I hadn't been hitting my driver great that day. As soon as I saw it take off, I was just ready to hit the next one. So I kind of chased after it, and I haven't done that in a while. Watching back, it was pretty cool.
Q. I was going to ask the same question. I want to know more about the walk-off. Tell us more what you were thinking. That walk-off has gone viral, right? Tell us more about that moment.
JACKSON KOIVUN: Like I said, I haven't done that in a while. Just kind of felt like the right thing to do because you don't want to give your opponent any sort of idea that you might be faltering or thinking of something else, and I just wanted to try to portray some confidence going into that 18th hole.
Q. You had all those great players that you were playing with on the team, and you stood up with them and were the only player that had a full winning record. Your thoughts about that?
JACKSON KOIVUN: Like you said, we had so many good players on that team. Obviously the Internationals had some great players on that team too. I think I just got a good draw and played well in my matches to claim that undefeated record, which is a pretty cool feat.
Q. Can you talk just a little bit about your impressions of this golf course? It's a pretty unique visual golf course, only had the one opportunity to go out there and play it, but can you tell us about what your first impressions are?
JACKSON KOIVUN: Unique is a great way to describe it. A lot of blind tee shots, going to be able to really rely on start lines using the mountains and the lava rocks to kind of figure out where some fairways are, especially on that front nine.
You've got to hit good drives obviously. We all know the fairways are lava rock lined. I feel like once you get into the fairway, you can definitely get some scoring clubs in your hand and go out there and put up a good number.
