Quick Quotes

Q. Steven, a bogey-free 63, if we could get some comments on your play.

STEVEN FISK: I feel like I drove the ball really, really well. Hit my irons to a lot of the spots I was looking at, and I was able to get some putts to fall. It sounds kind of cliche, but that's usually how 63s happen.

Q. You had 14 of 14 fairways hit. That also helps with the nice round, if we could get some comments.

STEVEN FISK: I feel like driver is a strength of mine most of the time. So coming out to a course like this where there's some pretty serious danger on either side of most of these holes, I feel like it can definitely play to what I'm good at.

Q. Talk to us about the eagle on No. 9.

STEVEN FISK: I hit a great drive, probably as far as I can get one down there. Was kind of in between a 4-iron and a hybrid and decided to rip a 4-iron to keep it short and hit it as good as I can hit one. Thankfully it released a little bit into the middle of the green. Felt like I had a really good read on that 30 or so footer, and I was able to make it.

Q. How does that eagle feel for you?

STEVEN FISK: Pretty good. I haven't had one this year. I've been complaining about how overdue I am for an eagle. So that was really nice.

Q. You got the win at ISCO. No. 70 in the FedExCup fall. Talk to us a little bit about your goals for the fall.

STEVEN FISK: Yeah, my goals for the fall is to set myself up for 2027. All the things that I'm going to try and put in place between now and the end of the year are to better prepare myself to play well in '27.

Because I won, I have a lot of freedom to kind of pick and choose where I want to play the rest of the year and try and pick the spots that I feel like I can play my best at.
