Quick Quotes

DOUG MILNE: We have two sets of feet that held or under 13-under 59. Good start, few comments, Tiger start with you. How much fun was it out there today?

TIGER WOODS: We had a blast slaying it today. All day we were after it, and we didn't get off to a great start but we made some birdies, an eagle and got rolling and really got into it, which was awesome.

And to be able to share it with you know, Charlie and to be able to share it with Thomases and the whole family and the LaCavas as it was again, all around, just an incredible day.

DOUG MILNE: We couldn't be happier to have us up here for a few minutes. If you could tell us how much fun you had today and how you're feeling.

CHARLIE WOODS: Ankle has been a little iffy but it's just been really fun playing with dad, the Thomases, the LaCavas, and of course Bones, too. Bones is part of that. It's just a big family out there.

Q. What was the momentum like when you went on that streak?

TIGER WOODS: It was very similar to the feeling we had last year on Sunday. We just got rolling. I had a little bit of a chip-in and all of a sudden a couple putts fell, and we were just trying to give ourselves as many opportunities getting in the fairway, iron shots and putts, and we just got rolling.

And we just had to try and catch up because the Thomases were off to a quick start, and we were behind and next thing you know, we're tied. Unfortunately we are a little bit back and hopefully we'll have another great day tomorrow.

Q. What was your review of Tiger's game today? How do you think he played today?

TIGER WOODS: No comment (laughter).

CHARLIE WOODS: I mean, he played great today. He had to carry me all day.

Q. Your dad's talked about how much you've pulled on him to play this tournament. How cool is this? What keeps making you want to make him play?

CHARLIE WOODS: That's a good question. Hmmm. I don't know. (Laughter) I don't know.

DOUG MILNE: Think about it and we'll come back to you on that.

Q. How much does your ankle hurt today, and how much do you have to adjust your swing to compensate for it?

CHARLIE WOODS: On some shots it hurt a lot. Walking was tough. But it was -- it was all right. It wasn't that bad.

TIGER WOODS: Hey, he got a cart, so it was all right.

Q. You always want to win but is there extra motivation with J.T. and his dad?

TIGER WOODS: No, absolutely. They got the belt a couple years ago. They rubbed it in our face over Christmas dinner. They are in a great position to possibly do it again on Christmas dinner but we are going to have a little something to say about that.

Q. You've played with Charlie a couple years now in this event. What have you learned about him as a teammate?

TIGER WOODS: Wool, he's a great teammate. He's my son. We have -- we have fun out there. At the end of the day that's what it's all about. It's about us having an opportunity to bond. We do this at home all the time, and you know, you guys are now seeing what we do all the time at home. We just have fun. We needle each other. We encourage each other. It goes back and forth.

It just -- it's just an amazing relationship, and it just deepens the bond between father and son. It's been incredible over the years to be able to share this stage and this atmosphere with him.

Q. You have to be pretty pleased, I know it's one round and everything, but you seem to be hitting it pretty good, especially with the driver, you got it out there a ways. I guess it's maybe what you've been talking about?

TIGER WOODS: Yeah, it's what I've been saying. I can hit the golf ball. I just have a tougher time getting from Point A to Point B. Hopefully after starting Monday, we'll kind of try and fix this thing and get it healed up.

But between now and Monday, we've got a little work to do.

Q. Does that make it even more frustrating?

TIGER WOODS: It does. It does. I've had a frustrating couple years, and so -- but again, to be able to be a part of this game and to be able to do this, I've missed being able to compete and play.

But as I said at the beginning of the year, or through the year, I was hoping to maybe get one major out of this thing and now I've got three majors, I'm able to play with my son.

It's been just incredible year all around.

Q. Is that the best putting round of the year?

TIGER WOODS: No. I think the second round of the British Open when I had probably six 3-putts (laughter), and the third round of the Masters when I think I had -- I led the field in 3-putts. Other than that, yeah (laughter).
