Q. Taylor, how does it feel to do this, get off to a fast start, play so well in front of your countrymen? This had to be special.
TAYLOR PENDRITH: Yeah, super special. To be paired up with Adam Scott, a legend in this competition, we did really well together. He putted great today.
To get my first point ever for the Shield feels really good. We played really solid golf today. It was a lot of fun.
Q. Adam, yesterday this match could have gone either way, but today you put the hammer down. Can you describe the feeling when two guys come together and play so well together?
ADAM SCOTT: I had a good feeling about this when we were up here a couple weeks ago scouting. We played a little bit, felt easy to me. I've played with lots of different guys, and I knew that we were going to be a good pairing, and the captains seemingly found a lot of good pairings in this format today.
But felt easy. The momentum got going our way, and in this format, that's a big advantage. Happy to close it out like we did.
Q. Adam, were you scoreboard watching? Did you hear the crowd? Different vibe today than yesterday certainly.
ADAM SCOTT: Yeah, we heard the crowd for sure. We got off to a good start, and the energy is there. We hear it again now.
It's a nice feeling because yesterday was flat. We didn't give them too much to cheer about. But today hopefully this is the start of a great weekend.
Q. Taylor, Canada loud and proud. Today they were fired up.
TAYLOR PENDRITH: Yeah, it was awesome. It really was. From the 1st tee, even when we were warming up on the range, there was tons of people there. We felt it today, felt the energy of the crowd. They were pulling for us, and it definitely helped everybody on the team.
Q. Taylor, this is your first point in the Presidents Cup. How special is it to get it with Adam Scott?
TAYLOR PENDRITH: Super special. I mean, I just had a blast out there playing with Adam. He's a legend in this tournament. I played with him a couple weeks ago, and I was really excited about that, and we played some really nice golf together.
He was able to knock in a couple putts early and got us going, and we kept the pressure down, and it feels incredible to help the team out and get a point.
Q. Adam, you've got so much experience. Can you explain to us what is happening today exactly?
ADAM SCOTT: Yeah, the scoreboard was very one-sided. But with a bit deeper dive into how the matches were, it was a little closer than the scoreboard looked. We just needed to find a little something extra.
Mike said to clean it up a little bit on the golf course today. Probably less mistakes out there from us today, and we're managing to turn this around a little bit. Hopefully we finish the day strong, and it's going to be an exciting weekend.
Q. Adam, how would you describe the energy, the focus, the determination today compared to yesterday?
ADAM SCOTT: Well, I think everyone was very focused coming out today. We knew we were in a deep hole, but no one felt discouraged. There were signs of good golf out there yesterday, but we just didn't get it done, and we cleaned it up a little bit today.
We were determined to do that, and the crowd is bringing the energy today.
