Q. Scottie, after the disappointment of Friday, how much did you relish the opportunity to go out first and put some red on the board?
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, I think Captain instilled some confidence in me and Collin to go out and get a point and it wasn't pretty at this today but we did what we needed to do to get the point, and that's what's most important.
Collin made some key putts there. The putt on 15 was massive. It looked like we had a good chance to go 2-up on 14, and we both missed, and then Adam makes his putt. Then for Collin to step up there on 15 was huge for our team and gave us some good momentum coming down the stretch.
Q. Yesterday might have rocked some players. How would you describe the belief that you have, not just between the two of you but 1 through 12 on this roster?
COLLIN MORIKAWA: Yeah, yesterday was yesterday. It's not like we've never played bad golf and it's not like we've never lost before. Honestly, I think after we came in and got our frustrations out, we knew once we got back home and got some rest, it was a brand new day and we had to come out here and at least start. Us being the leading group, it was really important for us to put a point on the board.
Q. I guess the golf course, your games tested your patience out there. I thought it was such a huge gut punch for the International Team to win the 14th hole. No bigger par that you made the entire day than the par you made on 15.
COLLIN MORIKAWA: Yeah, 14, I think walking up to the green, we figured at worst we had tied the hole. I felt really confident over my putt. Hit a bad putt, and ended up both missing. There you go. We're back to all square.
But 15 was huge. Scottie put it in the water. I think we can both laugh about it now, but honestly, my first putt was a little bit of a shock, but maybe that threw them off a little bit, I don't know. But it was nice to get there, and Scottie with back-to-back birdies on 16 and 17, yeah, that's how you close out matches.
Q. Scottie, I first saw you play in person a Junior Am qualifier at El Paso Country Club. I have never seen you go 18 holes without making a birdie. You were birdie-less headed into the 16th hole and you respond closing out the match with back-to-back birdies. Your patience has always been impressive to me.
SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Thanks. I was getting a little bit impatient out there and I'm standing there on 15 green thinking to myself, what am I doing, and just hoping Collin can knock that putt in, and that was huge for our team there. It really was.
Can't speak highly enough of that putt, and gave us some confidence going into the last two holes, and I was able to make a couple birdies when my partner needed me because he was a bit alone out there for a while today, so I was proud to step up when I needed to.
