Q. You brought your best when it mattered on Sunday. What did you channel on the first tee that got you to get it done?
TOM KIM: I kind of went in my own circle. I put my head down. Obviously Wyndham is a phenomenal player. He's a major champion. It was going to be a tough task, and I really put my head down and focused on my own game plan.
I really knew the exact attitude that I needed to go into today, and I'm just -- who cares if I won; I'm just glad I put the point on the board for the team.
Q. What was the message going into the day trying to win the Presidents Cup for the first time in a long time?
TOM KIM: Just be relentless. That's what I had in my heart. If you look on our sheet, it's a tough group. The U.S. is really, really good, and there's a reason why they're good. They're very stacked, and it was a tough task for everyone. I'm just glad I did my part for the team.
Q. Fitting Sunday singles victory. You had a monster week. How would you characterize the range of emotions for you and the team?
TOM KIM: I'm just very proud. This is probably my best Presidents Cup yet. I think this was one of the hardest ones. The crowd definitely enjoyed picking on me a little bit. It was great. The fans of Chicago were so amazing. It's a really cool sports city, and they really showed up for the U.S. this week.
I'm very honored to be a part of the week, and I'm very grateful. But I'm glad that I did my best for my team, and four points this week hopefully goes a long way.
Q. You're about to jet out of here to play in the Asian Games next week for Korea. How would you characterize balancing the commitment and the lift you had this week with what's next?
TOM KIM: I think when you get a chance to represent something more than yourself, it's always an honor. Playing for the Shield, playing for the country, no matter what it is, if it's bigger than yourself, I think it's something that's very honorable and something you should be always grateful for, and I'm very appreciative, and I'm very grateful to make the team this week. Hopefully the boys can do well and have a strong finish.
Personally I think next week, I'm excited to go back to Asia. I haven't been to Asia for so long, so I'm excited to go back home and see some friends and hopefully have a good week.
