SHANE LOWRY: I came here this week and I felt like I was playing really well. I showed it on the greens maybe the first day but the last few days, I felt great out there. Yes, I was nervous but I felt like this is where I belong and look, this is like -- I've experienced some amazing things but this is like, God, I can't believe it. It's something that I'll remember forever. My brother had a baby boy today, as well. They will be sitting at home watching this, it's unbelievable.
Q. Your dad, what a day for him.
SHANE LOWRY: Yeah, amazing, my dad, my sister, they are all here. I love them all like family. This is the best team in the world. I don't care what anyone says. This is the best tournament in the world. This is the only thing I want to do for the rest of my life.
Q. Can you put into words what this moment has meant for you?
SHANE LOWRY: Yeah, Martin Kaymer went through my head. He did something similar. I was honestly a bag of nerves out there all day. It was hard. Russell, like, is a bulldog. I knew he was never going to give me anything easy. He ran a couple up, and I said to my caddie, I have to do something.
Q. What was it like watching the momentum flip?
SHANE LOWRY: It was hard. Walking down 6th hole, it was all blue. I was like, this is great. I was like who, is going to get the winning point? I wasn't getting complacent but the U.S. obviously did a great job. They turned the tide and you could feel the momentum switch. We could hear the roars from 18 way off the course. It was just something else.
Now obviously we've retained it but I would love it win it. I want to go back out and support them.
Q. For it to come down to you, I know this means more to you than anything, with all of Ireland behind you, what does that mean?
SHANE LOWRY: You think back to the Irish greats in the game, they have all holed putts to win the Ryder Cup and I got my moment today. It's the best most ever, yeah.
My dad, he'll drink a few beers tonight. He'll be really happy.
