Q. 5-under after your opening 36 holes. What have you made of your first two days?
GRANT FORREST: Yeah, played solid. Played well yesterday. Conditions were quite easy. Today it was a little bit different. We got an east wind coming in and course plays a little bit tougher that way. It was a battle at times but made a couple good saves coming in towards the end and all in all, happy with my position going into the weekend.
Q. You know this place better than anyone, and you know the conditions can change within a heartbeat. Are you praying for rain?
GRANT FORREST: I think get a bit of a breeze, any links course needs that to have a bit more of a defense. The course is playing well. It's definitely maturing and getting better every year. Yeah, to the sure what the forecast is for the weekend, but probably more of the same.
Q. Nice to have your family here?
GRANT FORREST: Yeah, obviously last year we weren't sure if there were going to be any fans or not, and there weren't, so I think this is the first event my Mum's been to watch for a long time, year and a half.
My sister's just come back from uni and haven't seen her since Christmas. She just got out of isolation on Wednesday. It's good to see them out there and just in general, fans and feeling the support really helps.
Q. Does that help you play better golf?
GRANT FORREST: I think for me it does, yeah. I think I feed off of that, the crowd, even last week in Ireland, it was maybe 2,000 or 3,000. With the Irish fans, felt like more but nice to have an atmosphere out there.
Q. You just missed an Open spot last week. Is that the target this week? Is it still achievable?
GRANT FORREST: The goal of the week is not just to get an Open spot. It's to finish as high up as we can and if that happens to be enough into the week, that's an added bonus.
Q. Right now you're leading Scot.
GRANT FORREST: Yeah, there's quite a few of us out here and we're feeding off either each other, as well. Callum had success and Connor is playing solid, as well. Good to have a group of us out here.
