Q. Before you talk about the round, can you tell us what time you got up and what it was like here first thing in the morning and what it's like to play at 7.16?
ALEXANDER BJÖRK: I had a 4.45 alarm, woke up at 4.15, didn't want to sleep too much. It was early. I played late as well. It was a quick turnaround, a couple hours of sleep. Quite foggy in the morning so didn't even know if we were going to make it to the tee time or it was going to be delayed.
Q. It's beautiful, isn't it, playing this these conditions early morning?
ALEXANDER BJÖRK: Yeah, I liked it. Once you get up, it's lovely. It's tough to get up 4.45 but when you get up and get there, there's no wind, it's perfect conditions and the best you can get.
Q. Tell us what you were pleased about?
ALEXANDER BJÖRK: You don't really know what to expect. You just make the cut and you have a flat-calm morning. I was trying to get out and see if I can make some birdies, but then I got going from hole No. 5 or so, I played really well and made a couple nice putts. It was nice.
Q. Do you enjoy the challenge of links golf?
ALEXANDER BJÖRK: I do, yeah. I would say this course is not the linksiest I've played. It's somewhere in between I would say a normal course and links course which I think suits me pretty well because on a proper links-links, I still struggle a bit. This is good for me. It's an American-style links, I would say.
Q. Where would you rank this round in your career?
ALEXANDER BJÖRK: This season is absolutely one of the best, probably the best score I've had this season. I think I might have had one other minus eight, but definitely the best of the season. Career-wise, good round, absolutely.
Q. Are you in The Open next week?
ALEXANDER BJÖRK: I'm not.
Q. So tell us about that because that must be an ambition, as well, because you've now got a chance of doing that.
ALEXANDER BJÖRK: Absolutely, I put myself in for a chance there, as well. It's a real nice round, shooting this low, and after yesterday I wasn't really in the mix for having an Open spot. But now with a good round tomorrow and some results going my way, I have a chance, so that makes it extra motivating to play well tomorrow.
