Quick Quotes

Q. Bogey-free again, tell us about that?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: I like bogey-free. I felt like I struck the ball really nicely today. I think the only time I really was struggling for par or I should have been was on 13. I got a bad break and hit it in the fairway and was in a big divot and just flew out of the divot funny.

Other than that I felt like I struck it really nice. Had a lot of opportunities. Ball seemed to be going around the hole and into it today but still a solid round.

Q. Defies gravity sometimes, doesn't it?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Occasionally.

Q. You're new to this, but you seem to be pretty good at links golf. Tell us about how much you're enjoying this journey?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Yeah, I like links golf. I like how you have to be a lot more creative. I felt like I haven't hit a lot of stock shots this week. It's a lot more funny would say using the mounds and stuff to get the ball close to the hole versus making it airborne all the time.

Q. You're playing with someone twice your age, Pádraig. He's a good player of links golf, isn't he.

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: Good one. I liked seeing how he flighted a lot of those shots today, especially the holes we played into the wind. It was definitely fun to watch today.

Q. There's been some great American winners here, Rickie Fowler has won here, Phil has won here and you've got a chance tomorrow. What would it mean to you to win this event?

SCOTTIE SCHEFFLER: It would be great. It would be nice to get my first win over here. Would definitely give me confidence going into next week. I think I'll probably be behind going into tomorrow, probably four or five shots depending how things shake out, so I'll need a really nice round tomorrow.
