Q. What's the key for you out there? The wind's really picked up.
KURT KITAYAMA: I mean, it's hard to judge every shot. Not really stressing over how much is the wind. Made bogey on 10. You know it's playing hard, and just pars are good out there. So you kind of play for those pars and when you get a birdie, it's nice.
Q. You got your start on the DP World Tour, won on the DP World Tour. Do you think there's a misconception sometimes back in the US that everyone thinks they play in this kind of weather year round, but has your experience on the DP World Tour helped you so far this week?
KURT KITAYAMA: Yeah, I think so. If I never played out here, I'd have no idea what to expect coming to links golf. You get different grass and obviously the weather. Definitely opens you up to new experiences and new conditions.
Q. When you back on this round, what was the one part you think that really got you through it?
KURT KITAYAMA: I think managing the bogey on 10 right out of the gate, and hit it right on 2 and was able to get up-and-down from off the green. Settled me down. It was playing tough. Steady, making sure bogeys are not turning into doubles or anything out here, and then you can make a birdie.
