Q. Thanks for coming to speak to us today. 66, rounds three, how was that
MAX HOMA: Very good. Hit a lot of great shots. Holed putts. I felt like the first day, Thursday, putted great and didn't hit it awesome in that wind, and yesterday I hit it amazing and didn't hole anything. Yesterday today both came together.
Q. How was the course setup today?
MAX HOMA: Great. We can get to 16, get to the fairway. Yeah, it was good. Wind is a little bit down. There were more back pins today, which I'm learning in links golf, it's a lot easier.
There's definitely some opportunities. You just have to use the fairway to at least give yourself the best angle, but I definitely think you can score.
Q. Talk us through what you were up to yesterday at North Berwick.
MAX HOMA: Yeah, it's a bucket list golf course, and I never play 36 holes a day during a tournament week but for North Berwick, I had to. I saw it on a video back in the day and I've been wanting to go for years. Very, very fortunate to have Scott take me out, the pro over there. It was a blast.
Q. As an American coming here, what's the appeal of links golf?
MAX HOMA: I love it. There's obviously amazing golf courses in the US. This style of gore, I think some people can enjoy more. I enjoy it more. I just like playing the ball along the ground. I like the conditions. I like stuff like that. There's obviously a lot of good both sides.
It's just different and it's really good over here, get to see what we are going to have to do for next week. That's why playing North Berwick was so good because it's more so like St Andrews than Renaissance is. It was cool to get to experience two different links-stye golf courses, playing when it's firm and fast, I think it's enjoyable to play.
