THE MODERATOR: We welcome New York Golf Club. Not the finish you wanted tonight, but Rickie, hard-fought season. Just golf sometimes doesn't always go your way, I suppose?

RICKIE FOWLER: Yeah, I felt like every time we -- it seemed like all the matches, really other than the one that we won, kind of try and get something going, hit some good ones, and either we'd hit a poor shot or the other team would hit one closer so just struggled to get the ball rolling.

Felt like we were fighting all season. I wouldn't say we played necessarily poorly. A lot of the guys just ended up playing better than us on the given nights.

Q. Matt, your singles turnaround from season 1 to season 2 has been pretty good. What's been the biggest difference and what can you attribute that to?

MATT FITZPATRICK: Yeah, playing a lot better in the real golf world, so probably a lot to do with that. Hitting my irons better and giving myself more chances in here, which is a big thing.

Obviously holed a nice putt there, as well. A bit of luck with the bounce in the drivable hole, as well.

Yeah, I think just playing better in general just has probably done that.

Q. Yeah, obviously last year you guys made it all the way to the finals; this year didn't finish so well. Anything to reflect on in terms of strategy that didn't go well, hammer, singles strategy?

MATT FITZPATRICK: I don't think anything from a strategy standpoint. I think we probably tried to do a good job of that this year --

CAMERON YOUNG: The hammer strategy improved dramatically.

MATT FITZPATRICK: We did better with the hammer, definitely. For me, I felt like we didn't play our best last week for the double-header there. I didn't feel like I played well the one match I played, obviously, and never got anything going.

I felt we played really well for three of the five matches we played and we got one win, which it didn't necessarily feel that way.

I think Billy Horschel holed a bomb against us the first game of the season, and we kept it close the whole night tonight without -- well, we made one putt. I just think that -- I personally think that we deserved a little bit more out of the two matches where I feel like we played really well.

Q. Matt, 1.0 launch angle on Stinger, what's the secret to that?

MATT FITZPATRICK: That's a high one, yeah.

I said it last week, I just hit it low naturally, so it comes easy to me to kind of hit that shot. It's a pretty comfortable one.

Q. I was curious about the overlap between TGL and the beginning of the PGA TOUR season, a lot of crossover between guys who play in this league and have won on the Tour. Do you think there's anything about this league that helps you jump start the competitive juices to go out there and play from the cart?

CAMERON YOUNG: Yeah, starting early, playing the one match we did in December, I think we played two before I played the start of my PGA TOUR season. It's nice just to get out there, kind of in this case under the lights, but to get the juices flowing a little bit and hit a few shots in competition.

RICKIE FOWLER: Yeah, I played the one match prior to playing Amex and I hadn't played a tournament since the BMW in August. It still gets the juices flowing. It's a different kind of nerves being in here versus out playing a tournament, but I do think it helps kind of shake some potential rust off and make it more comfortable when you go tee it up at an event.

Q. Speaking of that overlap, we saw the first conflict intercity with the Cog across town and TGL on the same night. Saw Kim and Homa do both. In that same situation, would you have also played both?

MATT FITZPATRICK: I would have, yeah.

RICKIE FOWLER: Yeah. We played Seminole pro-member this morning and we're back out here.

MATT FITZPATRICK: Tell them about last week, Rickie, you played a pro-am Monday and Tuesday.

RICKIE FOWLER: Pro-am Monday, pro-am Tuesday.

CAMERON YOUNG: And you were in here with me on Tuesday morning.

MATT FITZPATRICK: You said you had four warmups Tuesday?

RICKIE FOWLER: Four warmups Tuesday. We're willing to do what we need to do.

Q. Anything else to wrap up the season and getting to play with these guys for two seasons and just enjoying TGL as a group?

MATT FITZPATRICK: For me, it's awesome. When I found out -- I'm not just saying it because they're here. When I found out these guys were on my team, I was delighted. Three of the nicest guys on TOUR, and they're stuck with me.

RICKIE FOWLER: You don't have to say that about Xander, he's not here.

MATT FITZPATRICK: Xander gave me a great compliment last week. I love being a part of it, and obviously playing with these boys is awesome. Obviously disappointed not to perform better, but yeah, I wouldn't change a thing. I thoroughly enjoy doing it with these boys.
