Q. How was it today?
SEPP STRAKA: Yeah, it was fun. I felt like I made it a little harder on myself. I didn't hit many fairways.
Definitely don't want to play in rain all the time, but every now and again, it's fun.
Q. This seems like a golf course that would fit your game very well. Is there a style of golf that you enjoy playing most?
SEPP STRAKA: This one fits pretty well. You've got to be very precise with your iron play into the greens to give yourself a lot of birdie chances.
I wish I carried the ball another 20 yards in the air so I could take out all these fairway bunkers that I'm having to hit around.
No, I think especially into the greens, it suits my game really well.
Q. When the ball doesn't go as far like it does today, do you get a sense of how this course is supposed to play, what the architect intended?
SEPP STRAKA: I don't know. 18 is a par-4, and I didn't get there in 2. I was shooting my best shots, and I was 20 yards from the front edge. I don't know if he intended that.
Yeah, this is definitely a course that a lot of those bunkers, like I said, are 300 carry. If you're carrying it over 300, you can take them out of play.
I feel like I'm playing it the way it's supposed to be played, but definitely for a lot of guys, it's a little bit of the penalty off the tee is definitely taken away.
Q. We're hearing a lot of hype about the 14th hole here. Are you a fan?
SEPP STRAKA: Yeah, 14's fun. I love a good short par-3. You hit a good shot, you've got a good birdie chance. But the green is pretty diabolical. So you've got to make sure you hit a good wedge shot.
