Quick Quotes

Q. Could we go back one day. The drill. You had the hat backwards, Finnis was holding your head. Can you talk a little bit about what you were trying to feel or not trying to feel that you were working on?

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: It's just another way of keeping my height. For me, issues start kind of with my takeaway. I kind of take the club out, I lose height, and I come off it and I feel like once I've lost my -- it's not necessarily losing my center point, but once I start losing height I have to back up at some point or correct things. So sometimes there's a stick under my chin, sometimes he rests his hand on my head, and it's different cues really for keeping my height in the takeaway in the back swing and putting in a bit of space and I can get my feels from there, really.

Q. General thoughts about your round today and the conditions out there.

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Yeah, very happy with -- I felt like I played well. I played really solid. I putted very well. Felt like I holed two or three really key putts. Tough golf course. Today is like as nice as we're going to get it in a way. And I know it was wet and it plays like a little longer, but the greens are so much softer than what we've had them in the practice days. So in terms of that like it's nice to shoot a good score when you think that maybe there's a good score out there on a course like this. It's like I say, it's not an easy golf course, it's an amazing challenge and I think if you shoot under par around here it's always a good day. So very happy with that.

Q. Can you walk through the shot into 10, the second shot or sorry your first hole?

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: I hit a good drive and -- can't remember. I think it was playing 259 front. So it was down 7. Whatever the pin was. I had to cut my mini driver. The wind was off the right and helping, so it was just like a cut with a mini driver. I did have a good visual because the tree was kind of in my way on the right. So at least I had a visual to cut it around and it landed perfect and went to 25 feet and rolled it in. So yeah it was like the perfect start.

Q. How did the delay impact you, if it did at all?

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: I think the lucky thing was that we hadn't come to the golf course. At least I sat in the hotel for an hour longer. Spoke to home. So that was great. Got a little bit longer speaking to everybody at home. Then just came and then you do your regular things, your regular warmup and everything. So as delays go this was a good one. I felt like we knew what we were doing and there was no sort of at times just got moved back and it didn't really mess around too much.

Q. The rain, did the rain have any impact if you weren't hitting a fairway? Did it change your game at all?

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: No, I think it was mainly the greens that was the biggest impact. Them just being more receptive was a big difference to what we had on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Q. How often have you played in Charlotte in the past and what do you think are the unique challenges here?

TOMMY FLEETWOOD: Played a few times. I think it's a very good test of golf. I think the golf course is in front of you. I think you can shape it both ways. I think it's a great driving golf course. It's just one of those great golf courses that you know you got to play good golf around that we come to each year.
