Q. Just take me through the round overall. You had an eagle on 4, right?
CALEB SURRATT: Yeah.
Q. Number of birdies, couple bogeys.
CALEB SURRATT: Yeah, I played well. Felt like I did a great job sticking to what I do best all day, and stayed focused and just kind of kept focusing one shot at a time really.
It added up well, so it was a good day.
Q. Yeah. Take me through the state of your game right now. You're having a lot of success. Made it far at the Junior and then winning the PGA Junior. What's working for your game right now?
CALEB SURRATT: I think I've just found my strengths in my game because I've worked hard enough to pick up on them, and I think I've just been playing to them recently. Now that I found them, playing to my strengths, I have a lot more looks, and more looks usually equals more birdies and less bogeys.
That's kind of been the difference for me, and a couple mental things.
Q. How was the course out there today? Couple guys have been saying it's a pretty tough walk.
CALEB SURRATT: I think this course is the real deal, to be honest with you. Oakmont is obviously extremely hard, but I think this place is definitely the real deal, too. I think you can find a lot of bogeys out here, and it's a crazy walk. I've never seen anything like it before. Fairways you can't hold. It's crazy.
It's a different experience from what I get back in Charlotte, so it's awesome.
Q. Yeah. Finally, what are the thoughts? Going into Oakmont tomorrow? You're in a good spot now. What do you have to do?
CALEB SURRATT: I mean, I'm not really going to focus on the score I got to shoot to get into match play at all. My real thought is winning it, so just going to go try and win.
I think if I do my best to try and win I'll be good on the match play side. Mainly just focus on every shot. That's all you got to do at Oakmont. Just can't lose focus on what you're doing on any single shot, so that's what I'm going to go do.
