TYLER WATTS: It was an up-and-down day. But just glad to get a W and survive.
Q. You were up 3 at one point and then it went down to 1. What went through your mind there, staying in it, not completely losing the match?
TYLER WATTS: Yeah, I mean, definitely I think Parker got a little bit of momentum on his side. I kind of gave him a couple holes, to be honest with you, but I was just focused on hitting good golf shots. I knew if I could just back to a position that I wanted to be in, and thankfully that happened.
Q. You're the No. 2 seed here, No. 3 in the world. Do you feel like you have a target on your back, like people see Tyler watts and they want to beat you?
TYLER WATTS: I don't care if there is or if there isn't. I'm here to execute and hit golf shots to the best of my ability, and thankfully I was able to get a W in this first round and survive and advance, like I said.
Q. 36 tomorrow; how do you keep this train moving?
TYLER WATTS: Yeah, I'm going to come out here in the morning and get prepared for that match. If I win that one, I'll move on to the afternoon and focus on that one and just take it one match at a time.
