Quick Quotes

Q. Can you tell us where is your game and confidence levels entering the third major of the year?

CAMERON SMITH: Yeah, game feels really nice. I've had -- I haven't really played a lot of golf lately, but I've done a ton of practice, especially the last week. Just working on different flights. It's going to be a good challenge around here. Yeah, it'll be good.

Q. What is the key to scoring well and contending around Torrey Pines?

CAMERON SMITH: I think just hitting fairways and getting up-and-down around the green. I think a lot of chipping and putting in the practice rounds and just trying to hit as many fairways as you can.

Q. Do you have a particular game plan?

CAMERON SMITH: Yeah, just try and hit fairways. Try and hit fairways and then go from there.

Q. Do you expect this to be a typical U.S. Open where scoring will be tough?

CAMERON SMITH: Yeah, I think so. U.S. Opens are always a challenge. They always mix it up, which is nice. Yeah, I think it's going to be tough. The weather is going to be perfect. That's probably going to be the only thing in our favor, I think.

Q. It was pretty tough going for the Aussies at the PGA. Are you optimistic about a bounce-back?

CAMERON SMITH: Yeah, absolutely. I think there's probably four or five of us that are playing really good golf at the moment. Let's hope for Australia that we can finally get one home.

Q. Did Queensland pride take a pounding in Origin One?

CAMERON SMITH: No, absolutely not. We're going to bounce back in game 2 and show New South Wales what we're made of.
