Q. Back in the quarterfinals again.
SOHAN PATEL: Yeah.
Q. Long day. Seemed like today you took a little different strategy. You got up early and you didn't have to fight back like you did yesterday.
SOHAN PATEL: Yeah, I mean, both of my matches were -- I definitely played well in both of them. I was up early. But both guys I played with, Brayden and Chase both fought back in the middle and kind of pushed me to later holes. 15, with Chase, and Chase is a great player, and 16 with Brayden and Brayden played awesome.
So just to know that even when you get up you can still lose the holes, which is completely fine. I never really gave any holes away except for like maybe one.
It's just like -- it's the part of the match play. It's just part of it, yeah.
Q. Yeah. Any particular shot in the second match today that stuck out or something that carried you, turned the momentum?
SOHAN PATEL: Yeah, so on 15, we both had around like -- I had like ten feet for birdie and he had 12 feet for birdie and he barely lipped out and I made it.
I went to 3-up and then hit a great 8-iron into 16 to seal the deal to like six feet.
Q. Yeah, when you're 3-up with three to go, that's got to be a pretty good feeling.
SOHAN PATEL: Yeah, it's great. I mean, definitely going to carry this momentum into tomorrow, but I know the job is very far from over and I'm just going to stay humble and hungry.
Q. Couple guys in your draw. Could be playing Tyler.
SOHAN PATEL: Yeah.
Q. Know him pretty well.
SOHAN PATEL: Yeah, we go back a couple years, but he's one of my good friends; going to the same college. If he wins it would be a blast out there.
Q. Yeah, and possibly -- I know you don't want to think too far ahead but could be Miles in the semifinals.
SOHAN PATEL: Yeah. I'm prepared for anything. I'm playing some of the best golf I've ever played, and feel like if I play my game I can hang with anyone.
Q. What do you got to do -- I mean, last year you lost to Hamilton; obviously he wins it.
SOHAN PATEL: Yeah.
Q. Anything you got to do differently tomorrow, or is it just a matter of...
SOHAN PATEL: No. I just got to remind myself that I've been there before. Last year with Hammy, just he kind of played very good on the back nine and it is what it is.
But my game is overall better this year. That doesn't mean that I'm going to win tomorrow, but it definitely gives me more confidence than I had last year knowing that I've been there and my game is better.
Q. Yeah, what's better this year?
SOHAN PATEL: I feel like overall everything. Mental, every part of my game is way better. Just overall better player.
Q. Maturity?
SOHAN PATEL: Yeah, I'm just thankful to be in the quarterfinals again. This is an awesome tournament.
Q. It's not easy to get there two years in a row.
SOHAN PATEL: Yeah. So much history behind this tournament and I'm just thankful to be here again.
