Q. Same result as last year.
SOHAN PATEL: Yeah.
Q. Just talk about the intensity of that match.
SOHAN PATEL: Yeah, it was a good match. We both played great. It came down to the wire. A lot of people were watching and it was just such a good match. It was so much fun.
Q. Have you played in front of that many people before?
SOHAN PATEL: Probably. But, I mean, the atmosphere was just crazy. All the cameras, people. It was honestly so much fun.
Q. That last hole, what was your strategy? You knew he was left probably off the tee.
SOHAN PATEL: Yeah.
Q. What was your thinking on your tee shot and on your second?
SOHAN PATEL: Yeah, I was just trying to hit it in like the front right bunker or just right of that. Honestly, didn't hit that bad of a drive. I kind of got funky lie in the rough, but didn't execute the shot how I wanted to.
And then kind of just got a bad break in the rough short of the green, but hit a good putt to try to extend the match. Just didn't go my way.
Q. How far did you have for your second?
SOHAN PATEL: Like 75 yards.
Q. 60-degree wedge, 56?
SOHAN PATEL: Yeah, of 60-degree. Just slid under it a little bit. I was trying to hit a little bit higher. Yeah, it is what it is.
Q. And I think you got in trouble on 15; is that right?
SOHAN PATEL: Yeah, I hit a little right off the tee, but outside of that I drove it pretty good all week. I played pretty good, so there is nothing to be mad about.
Q. Sum up your week here. Second straight quarterfinal.
SOHAN PATEL: Yeah.
Q. Obviously something to build on.
SOHAN PATEL: Yeah.
Q. Sum it up.
SOHAN PATEL: Yeah, it was an awesome week. Definitely stings to lose again in the quarterfinals, but I know that I'm definitely capable of winning this next year.
Q. Yeah.
SOHAN PATEL: So I just got to keep going.
Q. Maybe follow Miles' thing. Miles two years a row in the quarters and now he's into the semis.
SOHAN PATEL: Yeah. Maybe. You never know those things. But yeah.
Q. Are you in the Amateur or no?
SOHAN PATEL: No, I'm not.
Q. Okay, so done for the season in terms of competition?
SOHAN PATEL: Yeah. Maybe I'll play Junior PLAYERS, but pretty much done, yeah.
