THE MODERATOR: Tim Petrovic, 3-under 68. One of only two rounds today bogey-free. Can you talk us through that?
TIM PETROVIC: Yeah, you know, I had kind of a game plan. I was just going to try to hit it up there as far as I could. I hit some drivers on some holes that I probably shouldn't hit drivers on.
I knew the rough was going to be a lot wetter today and heavier and be a lot tougher if I was back a little further trying to get the ball to the green.
I hung in there. I got a great break on one hole. I hit it left and didn't go in the creek I think on 14 or something. I chipped it out and made a great up-and-down. So that was kind of my big par save for today.
But I played -- I made that. I missed a couple short ones, six-footers for birdie, but hit good putts.
So the greens are real slopey, they're tough to putt, so you're not going to make -- you're not going to go around here and make every putt.
Q. Did you get lucky with the afternoon draw today?
TIM PETROVIC: Yeah, like Jay said, yes, very lucky. Yeah, I looked out my window this morning, and it didn't look nice. Well, they didn't have the trifecta at least. It was cold -- you didn't get the cold, wind, and the rain. I think they got two out of three.
Yeah, still, nobody wants to go out and play golf in that. Looks like the next three days are looking pretty good.
Q. The weather is supposed to improve; how do you think the golf course is going to change?
TIM PETROVIC: I don't think it's going to change. I think the greens will be -- if we didn't get that rain, I think by Sunday the greens could have got real firm and real tough.
I think this will keep them a little bit on the softer side for the weekend, make them a little more playable, so you'll see some guys -- you'll see some 4-under rounds.
Other than that, yeah, I don't think it's going to change the course too much.
Q. You've done well in this championship before, tied for second. Do you feel like this championship brings your "A" game out of you?
TIM PETROVIC: Yeah, I think so. I focus -- kind of like my golf game, I seem to hit the hard shots better, and if I've got an easy ones, those are the ones I kind of mess up sometimes.
Yeah, I think I turn my focus up a little bit at the majors. I haven't really been playing well the last couple weeks. I think I've been a little tired. We strung a few in a row and went home and tried to recharge a little bit and tried to get a game plan and worked on my putting a little bit.
No, I'm looking forward to it.
