Q. Difference for you between yesterday and today? Conditions, just how you played?
ALEX CEJKA: I think we got a little bit lucky with the draw yesterday. That afternoon yesterday was nice. I don't want to say perfect, but it was in great playing conditions.
Today the wind was a little bit up but it's a little bit warmer. You still have to hit a lot of fairways. This is the key. If you drive it well you can make some birdies, even with the tough greens. But if you're not in the fairway, it's just brutal.
Q. You had four birdies, two bogeys; finished up in nice style. Maybe summarize your round today.
ALEX CEJKA: Yeah, I'm pretty pleased. I'm pretty pleased. Halfway through the U.S. Open is always great. I'm in great shape. I haven't seen kind of the board. As long as I stay close by, there is a chance.
It's a tough trek; two more rounds to go; everything can happen; everything is possible. 3-, 4-, 5-under is possible when everything is going your way.
So we'll see. I'm feeling well. If I just keep hitting a couple more fairways. I'm struggling a little bit. I had great drives, but a foot in, half a foot in, and then I get like medium lie.
So I've got to find a way to hit more fairways, and then hopefully putt well as well.
Q. Greens a little faster today. Did they dry out?
ALEX CEJKA: Some of those downhill lies are just incredible. I had one yesterday just past the flag. They're so fast. Almost putted it down the ridge.
So the down grain, downhill, it's tricky. You've got to really lag it up. I had a couple of great chances the last couple days, but it's a downhill, big swing, where you're just trying to lag it, not even make it.
Under normal circumstances when you have a 10-footer you're trying to make it, 15-footer, you're trying to cozy it up there to where it's at least like two feet.
But it's a great golf course. It's in great shape. As you see, a lot of great players are playing great. So it's going to be interesting.
