Q. Obviously a title defense, and we know that you wanted to put forth your best effort. How did you feel about the week in general?
JIM FURYK: Well, it was fun. Kind of a couple different things. Obviously great to come back to this part of Pennsylvania and see a lot of old friends. Really had a lot of folks out there cheering for me, which was really special and cool.
I'm a little disappointed in my rounds on Friday and Sunday. I struggled with some ball striking both days and hung in there the best I could. Then had really good rounds on Thursday and Saturday.
That's kind of been me this year. I've had some good flashes, but I haven't really been able to put four days together. Really frustrated with my back nine today. And some of the shots that I hit.
Q. Did you feel like -- you said Saturday morning you felt like you maybe found something a little bit that carried over to the course yesterday, but it kind of went away a little bit today, or just the back nine you had a couple of loose shots?
JIM FURYK: I hit some good ones on the front. Middle of the front nine I hit a couple of loose shots; shouldn't have made double on 7. I putted beautifully yesterday and putted awful today. I kind of made everything yesterday; made nothing today. Putted really good Thursday; putted poorly on Friday.
It's just been kind of an up and down season, and this week was very indicative of kind of how it's been.
Q. You had a very solid week at the country club in the Open and missed by one. Did you feel like -- did that make you think you were going to have a pretty good week here coming in?
JIM FURYK: Thursday was a little bit of a red alert. I really hung in there to shoot 74. I really gutted it out and played a really solid round on Friday. I was optimistic.
The two weeks prior, the two months prior, nothing's really been that good. So I'm kind of still climbing up the mountain right now. When I miss a cut and you call it a solid week, I'll be honest, it kind of pisses me off. Get that one on tape.
Q. You missed it by one.
JIM FURYK: Well, when I start missing cuts and that's solid, I'm going to quit.
Q. I get it. I get it. All in all, we appreciate your time.
JIM FURYK: Appreciate it.
Q. It was also a good week to be back in your home state obviously.
JIM FURYK: It was good.
